To get the Bubble Wand in Animal Well, use the first seahorse’s bubbles to reach and press three buttons, then climb to the gate and enter the room beyond it. You do not defeat this seahorse: it is a puzzle obstacle. The later seahorse encounter is separate and tied to the B. Flame.
Where to find the Bubble Wand route
Head to the seahorse area in the lower-left, western part of the map. Continue through its rooms until you reach the first bubble-producing seahorse and the route to the B. Wand chest.

How to get past the first seahorse
- Use the bubbles as platforms. In the seahorse room, bubbles rise and can support you. Wait for them, then jump onto them to gain height.
- Control where the seahorse aims. It moves behind you and directs its water jet toward the way you are facing. Adjust your position and facing to influence its movement and the bubbles’ placement.
- Reach and press all three buttons. Use the bubbles to climb to each button. Pressing all three opens the gate.
- Climb to the open gate. Keep using the seahorse’s bubbles to gain enough height to reach the gate, then enter the room beyond it.
- Collect the B. Wand. Take it from the chest in the room past the gate.
Watch your spacing while working around the seahorse. Direct contact deals one heart of damage, and its water jet can push you toward the water. There is no single guaranteed safe timing, so use care rather than relying on a damage-free pattern.
What the Bubble Wand does
The B. Wand creates one bubble at a time. You can stand on the bubble and use it to jump higher or cross gaps, making it a traversal tool for later parts of the game. It is also needed to reach the later seahorse boss battle before the B. Flame, and helps you cross the boundary between the first and second halves of the ostrich area.

Which seahorse encounter is the boss?
The first seahorse—the one you meet before the B. Wand—is not a boss you need to defeat to get the item. Solve its bubble-and-button puzzle to open the route. A separate seahorse puzzle comes later and is associated with the B. Flame; do not confuse that encounter with the wand’s opening route.
