The free Jeff costume from Marvel Rivals’ original Winter Celebration was Cuddly Fuzzlefin. It was unlocked by earning Golden Frost from event missions, decorating all five items in the Season’s Beatings gallery card, and reaching 500 Wintery Atmosphere. That event ended on January 9, 2025, so its card can no longer be completed. The later Winter Splash Festival rerun was a separate event and did not reopen the original unlock.
How the original Cuddly Fuzzlefin unlock worked
During the Winter Celebration, which ran from December 20, 2024, through January 9, 2025 (UTC), the free costume was the final reward on the Season’s Beatings gallery card. The event paired missions with a limited-time Jeff mode, Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival, where players sprayed snowflakes across the garden of Yggsgard: Royal Palace.
- Play Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival. The mode was part of the original Winter Celebration.
- Complete Winter Celebration missions. Missions awarded Golden Frost and Silver Frost; contemporary event guides reported that Golden Frost missions were tied to the mode and that additional quests appeared daily during the event.
- Spend Golden Frost on the gallery card. Each of the five Season’s Beatings decorations cost two Golden Frost and awarded 100 Wintery Atmosphere when completed.
- Claim the reward track items as they unlocked. Completing all five decorations yielded 500 Wintery Atmosphere, enough to claim the Cuddly Fuzzlefin costume.
The official event notes describe missions, event currencies, and the gallery card as parts of the Winter Celebration; the exact decoration costs and point rewards were reported in contemporaneous guides from Beebom and GamesRadar+.
Golden Frost, Silver Frost, and the five decorations
Golden Frost was required for card progress: two were spent on each of the five decorations. Silver Frost was not needed for the costume; it was used for decoration variations. The original path therefore required all five decorations, not a particular cosmetic variation.

Can you still get the original free Jeff skin?
No. The first Winter Celebration closed on January 9, 2025, at 15:59:59 UTC. Players who did not claim the card’s final reward during that event cannot now complete its missions or earn the costume through that original track.
NetEase later scheduled a revamped Winter Splash Festival mode for December 18, 2025, through January 16, 2026. Its December 2025 patch notes also listed the separate Gone Nutty For Gifts event, a free Magneto Black & Gold costume, and a Cuddly Fuzzlefin costume chroma available in the store from December 19, 2025. Those were later seasonal offerings, not a return of the original Season’s Beatings card; that later window has also ended.
