The broker is the direct route; use the Ashenvale route if you want to complete the original discovery.
Choose how to get the rune
| Route | What to do | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Rune Broker | Buy the rune from a broker in a capital city. | Getting the rune directly. |
| Ashenvale discovery | Collect Dreampyre Fire, Dreamsworn Horn, and Dreamhunter Fang, then combine them. | Completing the original world discovery. |
Wowhead’s Season of Discovery guide lists Rune Brokers in the capital cities for both factions. Its Immolation Aura guide also describes the original Ashenvale collection route. Note that learning a rune from a broker can interfere with related discoveries or quests; if you want to complete the discovery route, collect the reagents before buying the rune. Buy Immolation Aura from a Rune Broker
Visit a Rune Broker in one of the listed faction capitals and purchase the rune. The locations given by Wowhead are:
- Alliance: Darnassus, Ironforge, or Stormwind.
- Horde: Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff, or Undercity.
The guide documents these as capital-city locations; it does not specify a particular broker’s coordinates.

Find the three Ashenvale drops
The original discovery requires one item from each of three demons in Ashenvale. Wowhead places them near the Emerald Portal, around 94.0, 38.4. The location is approximate, and the area layout may have changed with the Incursion.
| Item | Drop source |
|---|---|
| Dreampyre Fire | Dreampyre Imp |
| Dreamsworn Horn | Emberspark Dreamsworn |
| Dreamhunter Fang | Dreamhunter Hound |
- Travel to Ashenvale and head to the Emerald Portal area, near 94.0, 38.4.
- Loot Dreampyre Fire from a Dreampyre Imp.
- Loot Dreamsworn Horn from an Emberspark Dreamsworn.
- Loot Dreamhunter Fang from a Dreamhunter Hound.
- Combine all three items to create the Rune of Immolation Aura, then use the rune to learn the bracer engraving.
If the demons are not visible around the old coordinates, check inside the Incursion portal area. In a November 2024 Blizzard forum thread, players reported that the earlier mobs were absent near the old entrance; a later player reply pointed to the creatures inside the portal. This is player guidance, not an official Blizzard confirmation. Blizzard forum discussion

What Immolation Aura does
Immolation Aura is a Warlock bracer rune. Icy Veins describes it as burning nearby enemies when the Warlock is hit by a melee attack, with a maximum trigger rate of once per second. It also reduces magic damage taken by 10% and increases Fire damage dealt by 10%; Icy Veins identifies it as useful for Warlock tanks. Icy Veins’ Warlock runes guide
