To unlock the mask most players mean by “the Jacket mask”—Richard Returns—you need either the PAYDAY 2: Jacket Character Pack or Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number Digital Special Edition. The standard edition of Hotline Miami 2 is not the same entitlement and does not include Richard Returns. Since PAYDAY 2 Update 243, either qualifying option also grants the Mega Richard Returns mask.
Which mask is the Jacket mask?
Richard Returns is the rooster mask associated with Jacket’s PAYDAY 2 content. It is distinct from the six masks in the separate Hotline Miami Mask Pack: Corey, Jake, Richter, Tony’s Revenge, Alex, and Biker. The newer Mega Richard Returns is an additional mask, not another name for Richard Returns.

How to unlock Richard Returns
There are two documented entitlement routes. Choose the one that matches what you want to own and which storefront you use.

The official PAYDAY 2 Hotline Miami 2 and Jacket Character Pack content page describes the Jacket Character Pack as standalone DLC and distinguishes it from the standard game’s mask pack. The Update 243 changelog, dated February 20, 2026, confirms the newer Mega Richard Returns eligibility and names Steam and Epic as platforms for the standalone pack.

What comes with the Jacket Character Pack?
The pack is more than a mask unlock. Epic’s PAYDAY 2: Jacket Character Pack listing describes the Windows pack as containing the Jacket character, Sociopath perk deck, nine masks—including Richard Returns and Mega Richard Returns—Jacket’s Piece, Carpenter’s Delight, and three weapon mods.
Already own a qualifying edition but can’t find the mask?
- Check the game account and storefront where you play, and confirm that it owns the exact Jacket Character Pack or Hotline Miami 2 Digital Special Edition. Owning the standard Hotline Miami 2 edition is not enough for Richard Returns.
- If the correct entitlement is present but the mask remains unavailable, contact the relevant storefront’s official support. The published eligibility information does not specify a complete recovery or account-transfer process, so do not assume that linking accounts or transferring ownership will resolve it.
Does buying PAYDAY 2 or a physical Hotline Miami 2 copy unlock it?
The documented routes are digital entitlements: the standalone Jacket Character Pack or Hotline Miami 2 Digital Special Edition. Simply owning PAYDAY 2, or buying a physical copy of Hotline Miami 2, is not identified as a way to obtain Richard Returns.
