Recruit Karen step by step
- Defeat Luca Blight. The cited guides place Karen’s recruitment after this story event.
- Check your castle level. Level 3 is the conservative threshold to try if Karen is unavailable. Some guidance says Level 2 is sufficient; the difference is unresolved.
- Go to the inn in Kuskus Town and talk to Karen.
- Accept her dance challenge and complete the on-screen task by entering Triangle, Square, Circle, X, Triangle, X, Circle, Square before time expires.
- Finish successfully and Karen will join the group.
What if Karen is not available?
Confirm that Luca Blight has been defeated, then check the castle level and return to the Kuskus inn. Game8’s guide for the HD Remaster and older GameFAQs guidance specify Castle Level 3, while RPG Site lists Level 2. The available guides do not establish whether this reflects a version difference, an error, or a route-specific detail, so Level 3 is the safer target rather than a universal minimum.
