You can’t unlock Katalina through the original free mobile quest anymore: Epic’s 2024 XP promotion ended on December 10, 2024, at 2 AM ET. If you missed it, check Fortnite’s in-game Item Shop for a possible future offer; Epic has not announced a return date. Installing Fortnite now does not restart the expired quest.
How the original Katalina unlock worked
Epic introduced Katalina as the top reward in a limited-time mobile XP quest track. The rewards unlocked at these cumulative XP thresholds:

These are the historical thresholds from Epic’s 2024 announcement, not active challenges. Epic initially described the promotion as lasting until the November release of v32.00, then updated the announcement: the final deadline was December 10, 2024, at 2 AM ET.
Can you still get Katalina on iPhone or Android?
The free XP quest has expired. Epic’s official pages do not confirm that Katalina is currently available for purchase or provide a date for her return. Check the Item Shop in Fortnite for current offers and future rotations; it is a changing catalog, so an offer may appear or disappear over time.

Playing Fortnite on a phone today is separate from eligibility for that old reward track. Downloading the game, buying a phone, or completing XP quests now will not revive the expired Katalina promotion.
How to install Fortnite on mobile today
Epic’s installation route depends on your device and, for iOS, your region. Use Epic’s current Fortnite mobile installation page to see the official option for your location. Its current instructions list Android installation through the Epic Games Store app or Google Play; iOS availability varies by region. Older instructions about the 2024 EU iOS launch may no longer reflect the route available where you live.

Epic lists these minimum requirements for its Epic Games Store app—not as a guarantee that Fortnite itself will run well on every device that meets them:
- Android: Android 8 / SDK 26 or later. Epic recommends Android 14 / SDK 34 or later for optimal store-app performance.
- iOS: iOS 17.6 or later.
Check Fortnite-specific device support before buying hardware. If you do not have a compatible Android device, a suitable phone can let you play Fortnite natively, but it does not grant Katalina or restore her old quest. Avoid treating unofficial sideloading tools as Epic-approved installation methods.
