If you mean the keycard in the “No Escape?” mission, find it inside the VCPD building in Washington Beach. Change into police clothes in the locker room, go upstairs to collect the keycard, then return downstairs and stand on the marker to free the prisoner. The mission walkthrough recommends entering without a weapon drawn and avoiding targeting officers.
If you mean a different mission key—or a keyboard key for a particular control—the title alone doesn’t identify which one. Share the mission name and platform for the right directions.
No Escape?: How to get the keycard
- Go to the VCPD building in Washington Beach. The walkthrough recommends arriving with full health and armor, and entering without brandishing a weapon.
- Head to the locker room marker and change into police clothes.
- Follow the game’s direction upstairs and pick up the keycard.
- Go back downstairs and stand on the marker to release the prisoner. Avoid targeting officers, as the walkthrough advises.
What happens after you free the prisoner?
The walkthrough says escaping the station brings a five-star wanted level. It recommends taking the getaway car provided after leaving the station; a fast car is mentioned as an alternative. These are escape suggestions, not requirements for finding the keycard.
Does this work in every version?
The documented directions come from GameSpot’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Walkthrough, published January 26, 2009. The available information does not establish whether the route or controls differ in the original release, Definitive Edition, or mobile editions, so treat the steps as a general mission walkthrough rather than a verified platform-by-platform guide.
