To unlock “Old Friend on the Other Side” in Zenless Zone Zero, collect all three notes left by Yijiang in Sword Seeker Chronicles. The achievement should unlock automatically when the third note is picked up. The route below follows a walkthrough updated January 15, 2026; its progression requirements and directions are guide-reported rather than confirmed by an official game page.
Requirements to enter Sword Seeker Chronicles
The Nerd’s Chalk walkthrough reports that you need Inter-Knot Level 20 or higher and must complete Main Story Chapter 1 – Intermission, also called Season 1 Chapter 1 Intermission in that guide. It directs players to open the Events menu and start Sword Seeker Chronicles, which it also refers to as the Qingming Realm story. These access details are secondary-source guidance, so check the in-game event listing if its availability or naming differs.
Where to find all three notes
The guide gives three pickups in the (Hollow) Qingming Realm. Follow them in order, using the named altar or area landmark to choose the correct starting point.
1. Notes Someone Left Behind (I): Deepest Part of Area 1
- Teleport to the Deepest Part of Area 1 in the (Hollow) Qingming Realm.
- Use a skill to clear the red crystals blocking the route.
- Defeat the enemies beyond the crystals, then continue to the end of the passage and collect the note.
2. Notes Someone Left Behind (II): drop below a Realm Sword Altar
- Teleport to the Realm Sword Altar shown for the second note in the walkthrough.
- Go straight, then turn right.
- Use Flying Sword to drop into the lower area. The note is directly ahead after you land.
The walkthrough uses an image to identify this altar; refer to its page image if the landmark is unclear: Nerd’s Chalk route and images.
