Finish Luigi’s Mansion 3 with at least 70,000G to earn Rank A. Because guides differ on whether exactly 70,000G qualifies, aim a little above that amount if you can. The rank is based on Luigi’s money when he clears the game and changes the size of the restored hotel shown in the ending.

How much money do you need for Rank A?

Target 70,000G or more by the end of the story. Gamerch’s guide, updated May 10, 2026, gives the Rank A requirement as 70,000G or more (Gamerch). iMore also says “$70,000 or more” (iMore), while a GameFAQs walkthrough phrases the requirement as “over 70,000G” (GameFAQs). Since those wordings do not settle the exact boundary consistently, collecting a small cushion above 70,000G is the safest target.

What does Rank A change?

The ending shows the hotel restored, and the rank affects the size of the hotel shown: a higher rank means a larger hotel. The consulted guides describe this as an ending visual and do not establish a separate gameplay reward or post-game unlock for Rank A.

How to build your money total

Search rooms as you play

Explore thoroughly instead of rushing from objective to objective. Use the Poltergust to investigate objects and rooms while you move through the hotel’s themed floors, solving puzzles and catching ghosts. Nintendo describes these as core parts of the adventure on its official game page.

Luigi's Mansion 3 Standard Edition - Nintendo Switch (European Version)
  • He may still be cowardly, but Luigi has more tools and abilities at his disposal than ever before. Master Luigi’s new powerful moves of Slam, Suction Shot and Burst
  • Team up with Professor E. Gadd’s latest invention, Gooigi, an all-green doppelganger able to slip through tight spaces, walk on spikes, and otherwise help Luigi overcome obstacles he can’t get past alone
  • Interchange between Luigi and Gooigi as one player, or grab a friend and control one each at the same time
  • Explore the Last Resort, ascending through its differently themed doors full of quirky contraptions and haunting enemies
  • Race the timer with up to 8 players to clear objectives on a series of doors in the ScareScraper

Sweep floors for anything you missed

Before the finale, revisit floors and check rooms carefully. iMore recommends sweeping from the bottom floor upward, using the Dark-Light to reveal hidden objects and vacuuming objects for money. It also identifies Golden Ghosts around the hotel as a useful source of cash.

Prioritize one-time discoveries

Gamerch reports that money lying on floors can reappear when you move between floors, while money from chests and paintings revealed with the Dark-Light is one-time only. Treat those chests and hidden paintings as missable: inspect rooms thoroughly when you first explore them.

Rank #2
Luigi's Mansion 3 - Nintendo Nintendo Switch [Digital Code]

  • Utilize the functions of the all-new Poltergust G-00: Pummel ghosts with a Slam, break through defenses with the Suction Shot, and blow back groups with a Burst
  • Luigi can call upon and control Gooigi, his all-green doppelganger, who can do what Luigi can’t; Gooigi can slip through tight spaces, walk on spikes, and help Luigi overcome obstacles
  • Change between Luigi and Gooigi in single player, or let a friend play as Gooigi for 2-player co-op
  • Up to 8 players can work together to ascend the Scarescaper via local wireless or online; It’s Team Luigi vs. Team Gooigi in a mini-game battle to see which is the ultimate team of ghost hunters

Rank thresholds and a guide discrepancy

The guides agree on the Rank A target, but they do not agree on the lower ranks. Gamerch lists the following thresholds; iMore and GameFAQs instead put the bottom of Rank B at 60,000G.

Rank Threshold reported by Gamerch Difference in other consulted guides
A 70,000G or more iMore says $70,000 or more; GameFAQs says over 70,000G.
B 40,000G to 69,999G iMore and GameFAQs place the bottom of Rank B at 60,000G.
C 39,999G or less The lower Rank C cutoff is not stated consistently across the consulted guides.

The conflicting Rank B figures do not affect the Rank A goal: plan for at least 70,000G, preferably with a small margin.

Does shop spending or ScareScraper money count?

The consulted guides do not confirm whether money spent at E. Gadd’s shop reduces the total used for the ending rank, or whether ScareScraper earnings carry over into the story total. Do not rely on either point to reach the target; focus on collecting money during the story.
