To get Rapid Killing through its original discovery quest in WoW Classic: Season of Discovery, reach level 45, click the Weathered Etching in Searing Gorge, then complete Bloodmage Lynnore’s quests in Blasted Lands. You’ll collect five Infernal Chain Links from Shadowsworn, weaken Calefactus the Unleashed with Lynnore’s Infernal Lasso, and return Fel Lifeblood to her for the Rune of the Ravenous. Using that rune item teaches Rapid Killing.
If you prefer to skip the chain, Rune Brokers in major cities sell Class Runes. However, Wowhead warns that learning a rune from a vendor may prevent some related discoveries or quests from functioning properly. If you want to complete the original chain or preserve those quest interactions, do the quest before buying or learning the rune.

Before you start: choose the quest or broker route

Wowhead’s guide displays Patch 1.15.8 and documents the broker option; its warning does not identify exactly which related quests can be affected. Confirm the NPC and availability in game if a patch changes the city route. For the original discovery chain, complete the quest before learning the rune from a broker.

1. Reach level 45 and find the Weathered Etching
You must be level 45 to pick up The Burning Beast. In Searing Gorge, enter the cave west of the flight point near 22,36. The Weathered Etching is deep inside, near the top of the middle section at about 14.5,36.5. Click it to begin the quest. Wowhead’s Hunter rune guide and Icy Veins’ Hunter rune guide cover the route.

2. Start the follow-up quests with Bloodmage Lynnore
Travel to Blasted Lands and speak to Bloodmage Lynnore, around 50.6,14.2, west of the road near the entrance to Stonard. Turn in the first quest and accept Chains That Bind.
3. Collect five Infernal Chain Links
Kill Shadowsworn and loot five Infernal Chain Links. Wowhead places these enemies along the zone’s eastern and western walls; lower-level examples around levels 51–53 are on the eastern-central wall, while level 53–55 examples are on the western-central wall. Return the links to Lynnore.

4. Use the Infernal Lasso on Calefactus
After turning in the links, accept Brought to Heel and take the Infernal Lasso from Lynnore. Find the level-50 Core Hound Calefactus the Unleashed in southwestern Blasted Lands, west of the crater near the road. Use the lasso to weaken it, then loot Fel Lifeblood. Wowhead reports an approximately five-minute respawn, but that is not a guaranteed timer.

5. Return Fel Lifeblood to Lynnore
Take Fel Lifeblood back to Bloodmage Lynnore to receive the Rune of the Ravenous. Use the rune item to learn Rapid Killing.

What Rapid Killing does
Rapid Killing is a Hunter helm rune. Icy Veins describes it as reducing Rapid Fire’s cooldown by two minutes; after you kill a target that grants honor or experience, your next shot within 20 seconds deals 20% more damage.
