The mine is on a small island northeast of Moosewood, and you must unlock a second island before entering. Four of the five materials appear in the mine’s listed reward pool; the current source reviewed here does not establish how to obtain Ethereal Glass.
Where to find the AFK Mine
Travel to Moosewood and look for the small island northeast of it. The AFK Mine reference identifies that island as the entrance, while the Rod of Time item page places the AFK Area east of the Flounder abundance near Moosewood. You need to unlock a second island before you can access the mine. See the AFK Mine reference and the Rod of Time item page.
The mine awards items over time. Its currently listed reward table includes four materials used in the Rod of Time recipe, but the listed chances are not a promise of how long any one player will wait. They are community-wiki figures, and the source does not describe an independent statistical study or testing method.
| Recipe material | AFK Mine listing |
|---|---|
| Sand of Time | 0.33% listed chance |
| Mythical Essence | 0.18% listed chance |
| 1000-Year-Old Wood | 0.05% listed chance (the mine table styles the name “1000 Year Old Wood”) |
| Timeless Threading | 0.05% listed chance |
| Ethereal Glass | Not listed in the retrieved AFK Mine rewards excerpt; its current acquisition method is not established here |
Odds and reward pools can change. The values above are as listed in the AFK Mine reference, not independently verified drop measurements.

Collect all five recipe materials
The complete recipe, as listed on the Rod of Time item page, is one of each of the following:
- Timeless Threading
- 1000-Year-Old Wood
- Ethereal Glass
- Sand of Time
- Mythical Essence
Four ingredients have a listed chance in the AFK Mine reward pool. Do not assume Ethereal Glass comes from that pool: it is absent from the retrieved reward listing, and no current source reviewed here confirms where to get it. Check the game’s item details or current in-game guidance before planning around an unverified location. The recipe is listed on the Rod of Time item page.

Craft the Rod of Time
- Unlock the second island required for mine access, then travel from Moosewood to the small island northeast of it and enter the AFK Mine.
- Acquire one of each of the five recipe materials. The AFK Mine’s listed reward pool includes four; Ethereal Glass’s current source is not confirmed above.
- Go to the Rod of Time projection or crafting point in the AFK Mines and use the materials there. A step-by-step interaction description in the sources reviewed dates to March 2025, so its specific key prompt may no longer match the current controls. Follow the prompt shown in your game.
This rod is crafted outside the usual Ancient Archives location. Do not travel to the Ancient Archives expecting to craft it there; the crafting rods reference distinguishes the Rod of Time’s crafting location.

The dedicated item page, updated September 25, 2026, lists 20% lure speed, 25% luck, 0.05 control, 20% resilience, and a 2,500 kg maximum weight. A separate fishing-rods overview instead gives a 2,000 kg maximum and a +25% XP ability. The available references do not reconcile those differences, so treat the maximum-weight figure and XP ability as uncertain until you check the current in-game item display. The dedicated page notes a passive but does not explain its effect.
