The best-confirmed secret-cat easter egg in The Battle Cats is Flower Cat: repeatedly open and close the door on the Cat Base screen. A Japanese guide updated September 30, 2026, specifies 100 successful openings in one minute, but that count is not confirmed as a universal requirement across regions and versions. Other Japanese guides list two additional hidden cats with separate unlock routes; their availability in the current English-language app is not confirmed.
How to get Flower Cat
- Open the Cat Base menu, which is the game’s home screen.
- Drag the door handle on the right to open the door fully, then let it close.
- Repeat the open-and-close action until the game displays an unlock notification. Game8’s Japanese guide says to complete 100 successful openings within one minute; it recommends listening for the door-opening sound to confirm the interaction registered. Game8’s door guide was updated September 30, 2026.
- Check the Special Cats menu for Flower Cat.
The Cat Base door is the well-corroborated Flower Cat easter egg: the community-maintained Flower Cat guide also identifies dragging the main-menu doorknob as its unlock route. The exact count comes from Game8’s Japanese instructions, not an official PONOS figure, so use the in-game notification as confirmation if your version behaves differently.
Are there other secret cats?
“Secret cats” is not established as one official, exhaustive category. Game8’s Japanese hidden-cats guide lists Flower Cat, Shinitate Nyanko, and Neko Shonen, but the latter two have different routes and their current availability in the English-language app has not been confirmed. Game8’s hidden-cats guide describes these additional routes:
- Shinitate Nyanko: The guide points to a hidden link in the game’s Options, Help, and Trivia path.
- Neko Shonen: The guide points to a link on the official Nyanko Studio YouTube channel.
These are Japanese-guide leads, not verified step-by-step instructions for every localization. Check your installed game’s menus and Special Cats list, and use current official PONOS channels for any external link. The community-maintained roster includes many other units obtained through story progress, Cat Capsules, stages, serial codes, and events; that wider roster is not the same as a list of hidden easter-egg cats. See the roster reference for its broader scope.

What repeated door opening does—and does not—unlock
The reported door interaction unlocks Flower Cat only. It does not award a Legend Ticket or a collection of secret cats, according to Game8’s door guide. If the door trick is not registering, make each full opening distinct, let the door close between attempts, and listen for the confirmation sound rather than counting gestures that may not have registered.

Cat Capsules are a separate acquisition system, not another name for the door easter egg. The community-maintained Cat Capsule guide says the capsule menu unlocks after clearing Japan in Empire of Cats Chapter 1. Collaboration capsule pools appear during some collaboration events, so their units may not be available when an event is inactive.

PONOS’s official Battle Cats FAQ describes Stories of Legend as including time-dependent event and collaboration stages. It does not give a current event schedule or promise a rerun, so there is no supported date to give for when a particular event cat will return.
