What is free in The Sims 4?
EA made The Sims 4 Base Game free to play on October 18, 2022. EA supports downloading it on PC, Mac, Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox; its installation guide explains how to get it on supported platforms. The free base game is a separate entitlement from paid add-on content: owning or downloading it does not unlock every pack.
EA’s September 16, 2022 announcement explains the move to a free base game and notes that development of packs, kits, and Sims Delivery Express drops would continue. So “free to play” describes the base game, not all DLC.

Check EA’s Marketplace for content listed as free
EA’s Marketplace and store list Sims 4 content by category, including Expansion Packs, Game Packs, Stuff Packs, Kits, and Maker Packs. A free Maker Pack listing appeared in the US store when it was checked on October 8, 2026, but availability can change. Confirm that an item is still marked free and available in your country and on your platform before relying on it.

See whether Moola can cover the item
EA describes Moola as the currency used for Maker Packs. Some select Kits can also be bought with Moola in-game, while other content—and some Kits—requires real-world currency. Check the item’s purchase option in the game or Marketplace rather than assuming every pack can be claimed with Moola. EA explains the categories and payment methods on its Marketplace help page.
Check the exact EA Play benefit
EA lists specific Sims 4 pack benefits for different membership editions: EA Play includes Get to Work, while EA Play Pro includes Get to Work and Kids Room Stuff. These inclusions are tied to the relevant membership edition; they do not make every Sims 4 pack part of either plan. If you are considering a membership only to access a pack, compare its current cost and terms with buying that pack outright. A subscription benefit should not be treated as permanent ownership of DLC.

Check your local EA or platform store for the current price and terms.
