Find Starwalker in Chapter 1

In the Forest, ring the bell in the room with the Starwalker Bird.

Backtrack along the path toward the start of the room. Starwalker appears on the path; speak to him. The Deltarune Wiki character page and a GameFAQs Chapter 1 walkthrough describe this return-and-talk sequence.
When Starwalker enters your inventory
If the Chapter 1 interaction was recorded, Starwalker joins the Key Items in Chapter 2 when Kris and Susie leave Castle Town to work on their group project, alongside Lancer and Rouxls Kaard. The Deltarune Wiki item page identifies the Chapter 1 interaction as the prerequisite.

What kind of item is Starwalker?
Starwalker is a Key Item, not an ordinary Light World object; the item page says it has no Light World equivalent. If Starwalker does not appear in Chapter 2, the relevant condition to check is whether you spoke to him in the Chapter 1 Forest after ringing the bell.
