If you mean Minecraft’s original TikTok Cape from the 15th-anniversary promotion, you cannot currently earn it through the old TikTok Live method. The reported earning period ended on June 18, 2024, and the reported code-redemption deadline was June 30, 2024.
The original TikTok Cape is no longer available through its official campaign
If you mean Minecraft’s original TikTok Cape from the 15th-anniversary promotion, you cannot currently earn it through the old TikTok Live method. The reported earning period ran from May 18 through June 18, 2024, and campaign-era instructions listed June 30, 2024 as the code-redemption deadline. The official Minecraft redemption page now shows a different WatchTime Quest reward—the Builder Cape—rather than the 2024 TikTok Cape. That means guides telling you to watch a short TikTok stream today may be describing a newer event, not the original cape.
How the 2024 TikTok Cape was obtained
The original promotion worked as a limited-time code campaign:

Those steps explain the completed 2024 campaign; they are not a currently working way to generate a new TikTok Cape.
Can you still get the original TikTok Cape?
There is no currently verified official earning method for the 2024 cape in the reviewed sources. The campaign ended in June 2024, and its reported redemption deadline has also passed.

However, do not assume that an old code will be accepted. The available official help explains normal code redemption and cape activation, but does not establish a current exception policy for this specific expired reward.
If redemption fails, contact official Minecraft Support and provide the relevant account and purchase or promotion details. Do not buy another code while waiting for an answer, and do not assume Support will manually add or restore the cape; that outcome is not confirmed for this promotion.

Do not buy a “TikTok Cape code” from a third party
Unknown sellers and social-media listings cannot prove that a code is genuine, unused, transferable, region-compatible, or still accepted by Minecraft. A seller may also be offering a code for a different cape or an account that could later be recovered by its original owner.
For the same reason, avoid account sellers, VPN workarounds, and unofficial cape mods if your goal is the official Minecraft cosmetic. They do not provide a reliable way to add the legitimate cape to your account and may create account, security, or moderation problems.

Promotional capes are associated with the Microsoft/Minecraft account used during redemption. Before trying an old code, confirm that you are signed in to the intended account and that you have access to the relevant Minecraft edition.
Official Minecraft guidance says promotional capes initially appear in the Bedrock Edition Dressing Room after they are awarded or redeemed. The same account can then be used to activate the cape through the Java Edition profile flow. Check both places if you play both editions:

- Bedrock: open the Dressing Room and look in the owned capes or character cosmetics.
- Java: open your Minecraft profile or skin-customization flow and check the available cape options.
If you do not already have the game on PC, Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC is the relevant edition product for using Minecraft account cosmetics. Buying the game, however, does not unlock the expired TikTok Cape; it only gives you access to the game and the associated account features needed to use a valid cosmetic.
What to do if a redeemed cape is missing
- Close and reopen Minecraft on the device where you are checking the cape.
- Confirm that Bedrock and Java are signed in with the same Microsoft account used for the code.
- Check Bedrock’s Dressing Room first, because promotional capes are documented as appearing there initially.
- Check the Java profile and cape-selection area after confirming the account.
- Keep the redemption confirmation, code error, account details, and relevant promotion information.
- Contact official Minecraft Support if the code was accepted but the cosmetic is still absent.
There is no documented, cape-specific waiting period in the sources reviewed, so it would be misleading to promise that the item will appear after a particular number of minutes or hours. An account mismatch or synchronization issue is possible, but only official Support can determine what happened to a particular redemption.
Do not confuse the 2024 cape with later TikTok rewards
Minecraft has used TikTok for more than one cape promotion. The original 2024 reward was tied to the 15th-anniversary TikTok Live campaign. Later events used different TikTok watch-time mechanics and different rewards, including the Menace Cape during the 2025 Minecraft Movie event and later WatchTime Quest campaigns.
Before following instructions for a new event, verify all of these details:

- the exact reward name;
- the official Minecraft announcement or campaign page;
- the campaign’s start and end dates;
- the required TikTok Live or watch-time activity;
- the eligible region and edition, if stated;
- the code-redeeming deadline.
A current instruction such as “watch three minutes on TikTok” may be valid for a later cape while having nothing to do with the 2024 TikTok Cape. For future opportunities, watch official Minecraft announcements and the reward labels shown inside the relevant TikTok event rather than relying on old guides.
Bottom line
If you missed the May–June 2024 promotion, the original TikTok Cape is not currently documented as obtainable through an active official route. If you possess a legitimate unused code, try the official Minecraft redemption page, but do not assume that an expired code will work or that Support will make an exception. If a new TikTok cape campaign appears, check its reward name and dates carefully—the next TikTok reward will not necessarily be the original TikTok Cape.
