To reach Dragon’s Dogma 2’s true-ending route, use the Empowered Godsbane Blade on the Arisen at the Dragon’s glowing heart during the final flight in the Legacy quest. This sends you to the Unmoored World instead of straight to the ordinary ending. Spoilers: the steps below reveal the finale trigger and postgame route.
What to do during the final Dragon flight
- Bring the Empowered Godsbane Blade. It is the key item for the alternate route; Ambrosius provides it after you collect enough Wyrmslife Crystals, according to GameSpot’s ending guide.
- Continue the main quest, Legacy, to the final Dragon sequence. While riding the Dragon, climb down to its glowing heart.
- Use the Empowered Godsbane Blade on the Arisen while at the heart. This triggers the Unmoored World route. The sequence is also described by PowerPyx and corroborated by RPG Site.
At the Dragon encounter, walking away rather than fighting leads to a bad ending. Fighting the Dragon continues toward the ordinary ending route, where the credits offer another chance to reach the alternate route.
If you already reached the ordinary ending
If you want to continue this campaign into the Unmoored World, do not start New Game Plus. During the credits, speak to the Pathfinder repeatedly until the game returns you to the Dragon flight. Then climb to the glowing heart and use the Empowered Godsbane Blade on the Arisen. GameSpot’s guide describes this retry route.
What to expect in the Unmoored World
The Unmoored World is the postgame route leading toward the true ending. Red beacons mark trials, and the final beacon at the Seafloor Shrine ends the game. Complete the trials and other postgame objectives you want to pursue before activating that last beacon. PowerPyx’s route guide covers the beacon progression.

Choose your route before ending the campaign

| Fight the Dragon and take the ordinary ending | Reaches the credits; speaking to the Pathfinder during the credits can return you to the Dragon flight. | Useful if you have already taken the ordinary ending and want the chance to use the blade. |
| Use the Empowered Godsbane Blade at the heart | Enters the Unmoored World, where red-beacon trials lead to the final Seafloor Shrine beacon. | Choose this to pursue the postgame route; finish desired trials before activating its final beacon. |
There is no established mandatory character level or build for this route. The key decision is having the required blade and using it at the Dragon’s heart before committing to the final beacon in the Unmoored World.
