Where is the Lich King?
The Lich King encounter is at the end of Icecrown Citadel, a raid in Icecrown, Northrend. Blizzard’s Wrath of the Lich King Classic announcement describes the raid’s final area as “The Frozen Throne: The Lich King” and lists 12 encounters.
How to reach the Icecrown Citadel entrance
- Travel to Icecrown in Northrend.
- Find the large Icecrown Citadel fortress in the southern part of the zone.
- Enter through the fortress’s front doors. A Wowhead entrance guide lists the entrance at coordinates 53.6, 86.4. These are guide-listed coordinates, not an official Blizzard coordinate.
How to get from the entrance to the Lich King
Once inside, progress through the Icecrown Citadel raid encounters toward the Frozen Throne. The Lich King encounter is located there; it is not a separate entrance outside the raid.
Icecrown Citadel is not the Frozen Halls
Do not mistake the Frozen Halls dungeon complex for the raid. Blizzard’s Icecrown zone guide identifies Forge of Souls, Pit of Saron, and Halls of Reflection as Frozen Halls dungeons, separate from Icecrown Citadel.
