Opening the Mines entrance is an earlier unlock; it does not open the Ruins. NPC Studio confirms that the seal questline lets players progress to the biome in its v0.15.0 update notes.
What to do if the Mines entrance is still closed
First progress the town story and follow the active “Unlocking the Mines” quest and its entrance event. The current independent guide describes that as the initial Mines unlock, separate from reaching the Ruins. Use your quest log, letters, and town-restoration objectives rather than gathering an assumed item list: the guide’s advice is to follow those active objectives.

What to do if you can enter the Mines but cannot reach the Ruins
- Continue the Mines progression until the “Breaking the Ruins Seal” questline becomes available.
- Complete that questline. NPC Studio identifies it as the progression gate to the Ruins Biome; the independent version 1.0 guide also distinguishes this later stage from opening the entrance.
The independent guide places the Ancient Ruins at floors 81–99 and describes them as the final Mines biome. That floor range is guide information; the official update confirms the quest gate but does not list the floors.

What changes in the Ruins
- Arena Floors: NPC Studio says all monsters on these floors must be defeated before you can proceed.
- Sacred Light: The official v0.15.0 notes say this tool unlocks through Mines questline progress and is used in the Ruins.
- Void Material: It may begin spawning throughout the Mines after you start the Ruins Seal questline, according to the same update notes.
NPC Studio’s v0.15.2 patch notes, dated March 4 and updated March 6, 2026, say bait and pheromones work in the Mines and note a Rare Bait crash fix in the Ruins Biome. The crash fix is relevant if you use Rare Bait there; it does not change the seal quest requirement.
