Connect an industry to passenger service and run that service often enough for workers to arrive regularly. In Transport Fever 3, workers are a throughput booster—not a cargo input or a workforce you assign directly. To check whether the game is counting them, open the industry window and expand Booster.
How to connect an industry to workers
- Provide a passenger connection that reaches the industry. The official Industries and Cargo manual describes worker boosting through passenger connections.
- Operate the service regularly. A single vehicle arrival is not the documented condition for keeping the boost active: sufficient workers need to arrive frequently. The game does not publish a universal worker count, service interval, fleet size, or stop-distance threshold.
- Check the industry’s feedback. Open the industry window, expand Booster, and inspect the worker list. This is the practical way to confirm whether workers are registering and whether the worker booster remains active.
Do not assume that a stop merely placed nearby will count. The official manual does not specify a catchment radius; use the worker list rather than an assumed distance to verify the connection.
What workers do—and what they do not do
Workers increase an industry’s overall production throughput when enough arrive regularly. They are not a production input, and a passenger service cannot replace cargo that a processing industry requires. Keep the worker booster separate from the industry’s input requirements and its freight arrangements.
Raw industries may also have a cargo booster, which is distinct from the worker booster. The game’s industry interface and manual treat worker arrivals and cargo supply as separate factors in production.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
If the worker booster is not active
- Worker list is empty or the booster has stopped: the manual identifies too few recent worker arrivals as the reason the worker booster stops. Check that the passenger connection reaches the industry and that service is bringing workers regularly.
- The industry is not producing as expected: check its required cargo inputs separately. Workers do not substitute for missing input cargo.
- Production rises but goods are not moving onward: check that suitable freight vehicles collect the output and that downstream demand can use it.
The official materials do not establish an exact number of workers, route frequency, or placement distance that guarantees a boost. Avoid treating any one timetable or nearby stop as a sure fix; confirm the result in the industry’s Booster section.
When a worker route is worth adding
Boosting can increase output, but extra routes and network capacity can also add costs, pollution, and noise, as Urban Games notes in its industry and cargo developer blog. Consider a worker service when extra throughput is useful, the industry has its required inputs, and your freight network or downstream demand can handle the added output. If one of those conditions is missing, the passenger route may add expense without solving the production bottleneck.
