To let a friend use your Once Human territory, add them as an in-game friend, open the Friends list, and change that friend’s territory permissions. On PC, player instructions say to right-click the friend’s name. Enable only the access they need: storage and facility interaction are separate permissions, and building access is described in player guidance. Menu labels and controls may differ by platform.
Grant territory permissions from the Friends list
- Add your friend in Once Human. They need to appear in your in-game Friends list. The current add-friend screen sequence is not established here.
- Open Friends and select the friend’s permission controls. For the PC interface, player instructions say to right-click the friend’s name. This is community guidance and may not match console or mobile controls. Steam Community instructions
- Enable the access they need. Official notes distinguish storage access from facility interaction. Player guidance also describes a build permission, but that label is not confirmed in the cited official notes. Turn on only the permissions relevant to what your friend will do.
- Check the specific facility setting if they still cannot use a facility. In Version 1.5.1, facility interaction was set to disabled by default for players who had not configured permissions before the update. Existing settings were retained. Once Human Version 1.5.1 announcement, April 21, 2025
Choose the permission that matches what your friend needs
- Build in your territory: Player instructions describe build authorization as an available permission. Verify the actual label in your current interface, since the official patch note cited here does not document that specific control.
- Use storage: Look for the storage permission. It is distinct from facility interaction in the official permission notes.
- Use facilities: Enable facility interaction separately. A friend’s ability to access storage does not establish that they can interact with your facilities.
For Hive members, official Version 2.3.8 notes say that members with territory permissions can share crafting queues and claim completed items from one another’s facilities in the documented mode. Once Human Version 2.3.8 announcement, May 13, 2026
If you cannot find the permission controls
A player report dated September 1, 2026, points to a Permissions screen at the Territory Terminal. Treat this as an alternate place to check, not a guaranteed route: official sources reviewed do not confirm that it exists across platforms or game modes. Player report on Reddit
Control names and menu paths may vary on console or mobile. The documented right-click instruction applies to PC player guidance; it does not establish equivalent button prompts on other platforms.

When a permission change does not work
Do not assume a changed toggle will always take effect immediately. Older player guidance reports permission changes that did not work, but it does not establish a reliable general fix. Steam Community discussion
Version 3.0.7, published September 24, 2026, for the September 28 update, fixed an issue where resource consumption was calculated incorrectly when multiple territories were connected and shared storage permissions were in use. That note documents a specific fix, not a general troubleshooting procedure. Once Human Version 3.0.7 announcement
