To gift an Overwatch item, use the Battle.net Shop: open a product listing and proceed only if it displays a Gift option. Blizzard says Battle Passes, currency bundles, and premium packs can be gifted to friends, but not every skin or cosmetic is guaranteed to be eligible. Choose your friend and review the purchase before checkout.

Blizzard’s Season 20 announcement, published December 9, 2025, names Battle Passes, currency bundles, and premium packs as giftable through Battle.net. The current Gift control on an individual product is the practical check; the announcement does not promise that every item in those broad categories is always available to every account.

Which Overwatch items can you gift?
Blizzard names Battle Passes, currency bundles, and premium packs. It does not publish a complete current list of every giftable item, and it does not establish that every skin or cosmetic can be sent directly. Check the listing for the item you want to give; if it has no Gift option, that product is not available to gift through that listing at the time you check.
The gifting announcement describes the Battle.net route. It does not provide a complete platform-by-platform eligibility guide, so do not assume the console storefront or in-game shop has the same controls. Blizzard’s older general Battle.net gifting guide explains the broad flow of choosing a gifting-enabled product, selecting Gift, and picking a friend. Its Overwatch Loot Box example is historical, not a current item recommendation.

Why might a gift fail?
Blizzard Support says a friend may be ineligible or already own all or part of the gift. A restriction on the product, payment method, currency, or region can also prevent a purchase. For a specific error, consult Blizzard’s “Your friend isn’t eligible to receive this” support article. Blizzard’s published guidance does not establish a universal delivery-time promise or a complete eligibility matrix for every product and region.

If a chosen Overwatch product has no Gift option, a physical Battle.net Balance code card is a less specific alternative: the recipient can redeem Balance and choose an eligible purchase. Blizzard says Balance can be used for most Battle.net Shop products and services, subject to restrictions. Card availability varies by retailer and region, and the Balance currency must match the shop currency; taxes may apply.

A Balance card is not a direct gift of a particular skin or other Overwatch item. Balance cannot be converted to cash, transferred between accounts, combined with another payment method for one purchase, or used in several third-party storefronts. For details, see Blizzard Support’s Battle.net Balance restrictions.
Quick Recap
Direct gift or Balance card?
| Option | What the recipient gets | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Direct gift | The specific eligible product you select. | The listing must show Gift, and the recipient, product, payment method, currency, and region must be eligible. |
| Battle.net Balance code card | Balance the recipient can use to choose a purchase, rather than a particular Overwatch item. | Retailer availability varies; the card currency must match the shop currency, and Balance restrictions apply. |
