This guide covers playing Roblox experiences—not Roblox Studio—and explains what to do on Windows, Mac, Chromebook, mobile, and consoles.

How to make Roblox full screen on Windows
- Join the Roblox experience you want to play.
- Click inside the game window so Roblox has keyboard focus.
- Press F11.
Roblox lists F11 as the default Fullscreen mode (Windows) keyboard binding. Pressing it again normally switches back to the previous windowed state.
On many laptops, the function row controls brightness, volume, or other hardware features. In that case, press Fn + F11. Some keyboards also require you to turn on Fn Lock.

If F11 does not work
- Click the game first. The browser address bar, chat box, another application, a remote desktop session, or a virtual machine may have keyboard focus.
- Press Esc. If the Roblox in-experience menu opens, Roblox is receiving keyboard input. Roblox documents Esc as the shortcut for opening that menu.
- Try Fn + F11. This is especially important on laptops and compact keyboards.
- Check Fn Lock. Use your keyboard’s Fn Lock key or manufacturer-specific shortcut if the function row is permanently assigned to hardware controls.
- Check which full-screen mode you are using. A browser or operating system may intercept F11 before Roblox receives it.
- Try the desktop Roblox app. Browser-launched and desktop clients can behave differently around browser tabs, address bars, and window controls.
- Restart Roblox. If the client is stuck in an unusual window state, close it completely and join the experience again.
Only after these basic checks should you update or reinstall Roblox. Roblox provides additional desktop and device help through its official technical support section.
How to exit Roblox full screen
On Windows, press F11 again—or Fn + F11 if your laptop requires the Fn key.
Esc is not the primary full-screen toggle. It opens the Roblox menu, where you can return to the experience or access available in-game options.

Roblox full screen vs. browser full screen
These are separate controls:
- Roblox full screen: Roblox responds to its reserved F11 input on Windows.
- Browser full screen: The browser hides tabs, the address bar, and other browser controls.
They can look similar, but the result may differ. You might still see a taskbar, window border, or another system bar depending on your operating system, client version, browser, display settings, and window mode. If browser tabs or the address bar remain, you may need to use the browser’s own full-screen command instead.
How to go full screen on Roblox on Mac
Do not assume that Roblox’s Windows F11 binding applies to macOS. Roblox’s current input documentation labels Mac F11 as Show desktop (Mac), while the Roblox full-screen binding is specifically listed for Windows.
On a Mac, use the window’s green full-screen button or the macOS full-screen command when it is available. This is a macOS window control rather than a separately documented Roblox full-screen setting.

Chromebook instructions
Roblox on ChromeOS uses the Android app model and requires Google Play Store support, according to Roblox’s Chromebook troubleshooting guidance. Use ChromeOS or the app window’s own full-screen and window controls rather than assuming the Windows Roblox F11 binding will apply.

Phones, tablets, Xbox, and PlayStation
There is normally no Roblox full-screen shortcut to activate on iPhone, iPad, Android, Xbox, or PlayStation. Roblox’s developer documentation says experiences are always full screen on mobile devices and consoles in normal use, so touch and console players generally do not need to change a setting.

Roblox’s current in-experience Settings and Help documentation lists controls such as volume, camera, graphics, accessibility, and keyboard help, but it does not verify a universal Settings → Fullscreen switch.

Menu labels and options can vary between clients and versions. For Windows, F11 remains the documented method. Avoid relying on older guides that present a settings path Roblox’s current support material does not confirm.
What full screen changes—and what it does not
Full screen gives the experience more display space and removes some distractions, but it does not guarantee an entirely borderless or exclusive-fullscreen display on every computer. Windowed mode is often more convenient for switching between Roblox and other applications, while full screen is usually better for an uninterrupted game view.
If you need keyboard shortcuts while playing, open the Roblox menu with Esc and check the in-game Help section. Roblox says that Help includes keyboard shortcuts, mouse instructions, and mobile gestures.
Scope and support notes
These instructions apply to playing Roblox experiences, not developing in Roblox Studio, which has separate editor and window controls. Roblox’s supported operating systems and client behavior can change; consult the current official hardware and operating-system requirements if the client will not launch or behaves unexpectedly.
