You can’t switch V to third person on foot with a normal in-game setting. The base game does offer a third-person camera while driving; to see V from behind on foot, PC players need a community mod, such as JB TPP MOD WIP third person.
How to use third person while driving
Enter a vehicle and use the vehicle-camera control. The exact binding depends on your platform and any control remapping, so check the game’s Controls menu rather than relying on a universal button. This is a built-in vehicle view, not an on-foot camera toggle. Cyberpunk 2077

How to see V in third person on foot on PC
The documented community workaround is JB TPP MOD WIP third person. Its setup tutorial requires Cyber Engine Tweaks (CET), and you must assign the mod’s activation key in CET settings before using it. It is a mod, not an official game setting. See the mod setup tutorial
- Check the current mod page and compatibility notes for your installed game version.
- Install Cyber Engine Tweaks as required by the mod’s instructions.
- Open CET settings and assign the mod’s activation key.
- Use the configured key to switch to the mod’s on-foot camera.
The cited setup tutorial is from 2022, so its instructions may not match every current game version. Confirm the latest requirements before installing. This documented route is for PC; it does not establish a console method.

Vehicle camera mods are a separate option
Auto Vehicle Camera Switch changes vehicle camera behavior rather than adding an on-foot third-person view. Its options distinguish cars from bikes and can select perspectives for driving, stationary situations, or combat. The mod requires redscript; Mod Settings is listed as optional.
