To reduce clutter while you play, open the experience menu and turn off individual controls if that experience offers them. Roblox’s documentation does not describe a universal way to hide every interface element from the live screen.
Hide the UI in a screenshot
- While in an experience, open the hamburger menu in the upper-left corner.
- Select Captures. Roblox says the capture icon appears on the right side of the screen.
- Tap or click the capture icon to take the screenshot. The interface is removed from the resulting image.
Roblox documents screenshot capture on desktop and mobile. Captures are stored in Roblox app storage; its instructions describe saving an image to the device’s camera roll on mobile or the Pictures folder on desktop. Roblox Support: How Do I Take a Screenshot in an Experience?
Hide the UI in a video
- Open the in-experience menu and choose Captures.
- Use the capture icon to start recording, then use it again to stop.
Roblox’s video capture feature removes the in-experience UI from the recorded video and supports desktop and mobile. A recording can be up to 30 seconds; in-experience sounds and voice chat are not currently recorded. These steps remove the interface from the saved video, not from the live screen. Reduce interface clutter while playing
Open the hamburger menu and check the available Experience Controls. Depending on the experience, you may be able to toggle individual items such as Chat, the voice chat microphone, Quick Words, Leaderboard, Emotes, or Inventory. The menu shows features enabled for that particular experience, so the available controls vary. Roblox does not promise a control to hide the entire interface. What Roblox’s other settings do—and don’t do
The in-experience settings page documents volume, camera, graphics, and accessibility options, including Reduce Motion, Background Transparency, and UI Navigation Toggle. It does not describe these as a way to hide the full interface. In particular, Background Transparency makes UI backgrounds more opaque to improve contrast; it does not make interface elements disappear. Roblox Support: In-experience Settings and Help
Roblox’s documented approach is therefore to use Captures for a UI-free saved image or video, or to toggle specific controls when the experience provides them. The official pages cited here do not document a universal keyboard shortcut for hiding all UI during live play. For experience-specific shortcuts, mouse instructions, or mobile gestures, check the in-experience Help menu.
