No published Fantasy MC documentation establishes a RAM requirement, CPU requirement, player limit, or performance benchmark. Do not treat any generic memory value as a Fantasy MC specification. Install a 64-bit build
Install a 64-bit Java 17 runtime appropriate for your operating system. Avoid assuming that the Java used by a graphical Minecraft launcher is the Java used by a server shell; the server command uses whichever executable is first on that shell’s PATH, unless you provide an explicit path.

Check the active version
- Open a terminal, Command Prompt, or PowerShell window.
- Run
java -version. - Confirm that the reported major version is 17 and that the runtime is 64-bit where the output identifies architecture.
- If another version appears, correct
PATHor use the full path to the Java 17 executable when starting the server.
Java 17 is the relevant compatibility target for Minecraft 1.19.2 Fabric. A newer or older runtime can produce loader, class-version, or mod failures even when the JAR files themselves are correct.
Choose and prepare the Fabric server launcher
Download for the exact game version
Use Fabric’s official server download page and select Minecraft 1.19.2. Record the Fabric loader version you select alongside the Fantasy MC pack version. The executable server JAR is the simplest route because it can obtain or start the required components itself. The manual installer is also valid, but it creates a different set of files and requires you to follow its generated launch instructions.
Do not silently substitute a launcher for another Minecraft version. A loader intended for a nearby release does not make 1.19.2 mods compatible.

- Create a new folder used only for this server, such as
fantasy-mc-1.19.2-server. - Place the chosen Fabric server launcher JAR in that folder.
- Keep the folder path simple and writable by the account that will run Java.
- Do not mix files from an older world, another loader, or a different Minecraft version before the first launch.
Run the first launch
From inside the server directory, run this form of command, replacing the placeholder with the actual launcher filename:
java -Xmx2G -jar <fabric server launcher jar file name> nogui-Xmx2G sets a two-gigabyte maximum heap for an initial test. It is an example rather than a measured recommendation for Fantasy MC. Increase or reduce memory only after observing the pack’s actual behavior and the host’s available resources; allocating memory that the machine does not have can make the operating system unstable.
The first run normally creates the vanilla server JAR, a libraries directory, configuration files, and an EULA file. If the process stops and asks for the EULA, stop there rather than repeatedly restarting it.

Accept the EULA and configure the generated server
Complete the EULA step
Read Mojang’s server terms. In the generated EULA file, change the acceptance setting as required by the server workflow, then save it before starting again. The server will not continue until that requirement is satisfied.

Review server.properties
Open server.properties in a text editor and make deliberate choices instead of leaving every value accidental:
- Server name or message: Give players a recognizable identity for the server.
- Difficulty: Select the setting that matches the group’s intended survival experience.
- Whitelist: Enable and maintain a whitelist when access should be limited to known players.
- Online-mode policy: Keep the authentication policy consistent with the accounts and security model you intend to use.
- View distance and simulation distance: Set these with regard to the machine’s observed load and the number of players; no Fantasy MC-specific values are published by the pack documentation.
- Server port: Note the exact listening port. This is the port that local tests, firewall rules, router forwarding, and remote players must use.
Change one setting at a time while diagnosing problems. After editing the file, restart the server so the process reads the new values.
Install the Fantasy MC server-side mods
Start from the canonical pack release
Obtain the exact Fantasy MC 1.19.2 distribution and inspect its manifest or server-pack instructions. The Fantasy MC release information provided by the pack does not identify the pack’s individual mods, loader build, or per-mod server/client classification, so those details must come from the release itself rather than from the pack’s name.
Copy only compatible JARs
Put the pack’s dedicated-server mods in the server directory’s mods folder. For every JAR, verify all three compatibility dimensions:
- Minecraft version is 1.19.2.
- Mod loader is Fabric, not Forge or another loader.
- The file targets Java Edition and the Java runtime used by the server.
Install Fabric API when the pack or a mod lists it as a dependency. Add any other dependency JARs named by the manifest. A mod that launches on a client is not automatically suitable for a dedicated server; some files are explicitly client-only and should remain out of the server’s mods directory.

Keep the client set aligned
Install the matching Fantasy MC client pack for every player. The client and server need compatible content, versions, and dependencies, but they do not necessarily contain identical JAR lists. Follow the pack documentation when it marks a mod as client-only. Do not infer server suitability from a successful single-player launch.
Fabric’s Windows setup guidance recommends testing the desired client mods before finalizing the server. That test can reveal graphical or input mods that belong only on clients, while the dedicated-server launch will expose missing server dependencies.
Start, read the console, and test locally
- Start the server again with the Java 17 command.
- Watch the console from the beginning of the boot sequence.
- Stop and correct any missing dependency, wrong-version, or loader error before inviting players.
- From the same machine, connect to the server using the local address and the port configured in
server.properties. - Join with the matching Minecraft 1.19.2 Fabric client pack.
- Move around the world, load chunks, and exercise the pack’s main features while watching for repeated errors or crashes.
A successful local connection proves that the Java process, world, loader, and basic mod set work together. It does not prove that an outside player can reach the machine through the router.

Let friends connect from outside your home network
Identify the endpoint
Remote players need the public address of the network hosting the server and the port shown in server.properties. They should not use the server computer’s private LAN address unless they are on the same local network. If your internet provider changes the public address, players will need the new address unless you have a separate address-management solution.
Forward the configured port
- Give the server computer a stable private address on the home network, using your router’s reservation feature or an equivalent method.
- In the router’s port-forwarding page, create a rule for the exact server port from
server.properties. - Forward the appropriate transport protocol to the server computer’s private address, following the router and operating-system documentation.
- Allow the Java process or that port through the host operating system’s firewall.
- If another firewall exists upstream, such as a separate gateway, configure it as well.
- Have a friend on a different network test the public address and configured port.
Mojang’s server guidance specifically directs operators to forward the port listed in server.properties for outside connections. Forwarding an unconfigured port, forwarding to the wrong private address, or opening the router while the host firewall still blocks Java will leave friends unable to join.
Use a cautious access policy
Keep the whitelist enabled when the server is intended for a private group, and share the public endpoint only with those players. Review online-mode and account expectations before changing them; a convenience change can alter who is authenticated and how the server is exposed.

Deploy the same server on a remote machine
If you move from a home computer to a remote host, transfer the complete installation rather than only the visible mod JARs. The remote deployment needs:

- The vanilla

Stop the local server before copying a live world so files are not changing during transfer. On the remote machine, install Java 17, preserve the directory structure, verify file permissions, accept the EULA according to the host’s workflow, and launch the same server command. A deployment that copies the launcher but omits server.jar, libraries, or configuration can fail even though the upload appears complete.

Choose self-hosting when control and existing hardware matter more than convenience. Choose a managed service when avoiding router administration and operating-system maintenance is worth giving up some low-level control. Do not assume a host supports this pack merely because it advertises generic Minecraft or Fabric service; verify the exact version and upload process first.

Troubleshoot the common failures
UnsupportedClassVersionError
Run java -version in the same shell or service account that starts the server. If it is not Java 17, correct the environment or invoke the Java 17 executable explicitly. Also check that a service manager is not selecting a different Java installation than your interactive terminal.
Missing mod or dependency errors
Compare every server JAR with the 1.19.2 Fabric pack manifest. Check loader type, Minecraft version, and required dependencies such as Fabric API. Remove duplicates and client-only files from the dedicated server, then restart after each controlled change.

The server starts, but friends cannot join
Test locally first. Then confirm the port in server.properties, the host firewall rule, the router’s forwarding destination, and the public address players are using. A local success combined with remote failure usually points to the network path rather than the mod loader.
Remote deployment fails after copying
Check that the Fabric launcher, vanilla server.jar, libraries directory, configuration files, and server-side pack files were transferred together. Compare directory names and permissions, then run the Java command from the intended server directory.
The world breaks after an update
Stop the server, back up the world and configuration, and change one component at a time. Keep the previous working mod set and loader available for rollback. Never test an unverified update on the only copy of an established world.
Maintain the server safely
Back up before every change
Make a restorable copy of the world, server.properties, pack configuration, and the complete working mod set before changing Minecraft, Fabric, Java, or a major mod. Store at least one copy outside the live server directory.
Record what is running
Keep a short inventory containing the Minecraft version (1.19.2), Java major version (17), Fabric loader build, Fantasy MC release, and server port. This makes a crash report or migration actionable and prevents accidentally mixing files from different pack releases.
Update in a controlled order
- Stop the server cleanly.
- Back up the world and current configuration.
- Change one mod, dependency, loader, or configuration item.
- Start the server and read the entire console for errors.
- Connect with a matching client and exercise the affected features.
- Keep the prior working files until the new version has been stable.
Final launch checklist
- Java 17 is installed, 64-bit, and confirmed by
java -version. - The Fabric launcher targets Minecraft 1.19.2 and its loader build is recorded.
- The first launch generated the required files and the EULA requirement is satisfied.
server.propertieshas an intentional port, difficulty, whitelist policy, authentication policy, view distance, and simulation distance.- Only 1.19.2 Fabric server-compatible mods and their dependencies are in
mods. - Every player uses the matching client pack, with client-only files kept on clients.
- The server passes a local connection test.

- A backup and rollback copy exist before regular play or updates begin.
Once those checks pass, Fantasy MC can run as a normal Fabric 1.19.2 dedicated server. The remaining compatibility decisions belong to the specific pack release: use its canonical manifest to resolve the loader build, exact mod versions, dependencies, and client/server split rather than guessing from the pack’s title.
