How to Host a Path of Titans Server in 2026

Path of Titans servers can be self-hosted on a dedicated Windows or Linux machine or run through a game-server provider. Compare the trade-offs and follow practical setup and configuration guidance.

You can host a Path of Titans Community Server either on a dedicated Windows or Linux machine you manage, or through a game-server provider. Self-hosting gives you control over the machine and some settings, but you take on installation, network setup and ongoing maintenance. A provider handles the server infrastructure, but its panel and available settings can limit what you change. Either way, Alderon requires a full copy of Path of Titans to host a community server, and your server must comply with its Terms of Service and Server Hosting Agreement.

Choose self-hosting or a game-server provider

Alderon identifies self-hosting and using a game-server provider as the two ways to run a community server. The right option depends less on which sounds simpler and more on how much setup and maintenance you want to own, and how much control your configuration requires. Read Alderon’s Community Servers F.A.Q. and server-hosting information before you start; the FAQ was updated May 12, 2025.

Consideration Self-hosting Managed provider
Where the server runs A dedicated machine running Windows or Linux, as required by Alderon. The provider’s game-server service; check the provider’s live page for its current regions and package details.
Initial work Install server software and maintain the machine. Alderon’s May 2026 blog described the then-current process as requiring downloads and port forwarding. Set up a service through the provider’s panel. The Nitrado setup guide documents a hosting-token step.
Control over settings Some settings may be available only to self-hosted servers. Nitrado’s configuration guide, for example, says its customers cannot adjust MaxPlayers. Controls vary by provider. Check the options you need in the current panel and documentation before purchasing.
Capacity and term Not stated in Alderon’s hosting guidance; do not assume a player limit from your computer’s specifications. Nitrado’s product page displayed configurable 10–200-slot packages and 3–365-day terms when crawled in 2026. These are advertised package options, not performance measurements.
Maintenance You manage installation, configuration, rules, roles, mods, admin tools and troubleshooting. The provider supplies a managed product and advertises administration tools and other service features; confirm what is included for your location and package.

There is no authoritative hardware-sizing guidance in the cited sources for CPU, memory, storage, bandwidth or player capacity. Alderon says a dedicated Windows or Linux machine is required for self-hosting, but that alone is not enough information to choose a computer. Avoid buying hardware based on an assumed player count; check current server documentation first.

When self-hosting makes sense

Choose this route if you have a dedicated machine, are comfortable installing and updating server software, and want to manage the environment directly. Plan for network configuration and for the time needed to administer the community, not just the initial launch. The Path of Titans Hosting Wiki has separate Windows and Linux setup instructions; its guides warn that they are not exhaustive, so confirm the current instructions and tool version as you follow them.

  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

When a provider makes sense

A managed service can be a better fit if you do not want to run the server on your own dedicated machine. It is not a guarantee that every setting you want will be available: provider controls differ, and the Nitrado configuration guide documents at least one restriction. Compare the live control panel, supported features, region, package size, term and renewal conditions against your needs rather than assuming a managed server is identical to self-hosting.

If you want a provider with its own game panel, Godlike.Host offers Path of Titans servers with free DDoS protection, up to three free backups a day with restore, and 24/7 support by live chat or ticket; see the current plans for details. Not on Alderon Games’ list of Path of Titans server providers (alderongames.com, 11 Oct 2026).

What to prepare before setup

  • A full copy of Path of Titans: Alderon says a full copy of the game is required to host a community server.
  • A route: Decide whether to provide a dedicated Windows or Linux machine or use a provider. Self-hosting is not documented as a lightweight add-on to an ordinary game session.
  • Server rules and administration decisions: Think through the rules, message of the day, roles, admins and any mods before inviting players. These are part of the Hosting Wiki’s setup overview.
  • Compliance: Review Alderon’s Terms of Service and Server Hosting Agreement linked from its official server-hosting page and follow them when operating the server.
  • A settings list: Write down which options matter to your community, then check whether they are supported by your chosen hosting route. In particular, do not assume a provider exposes every setting available to a self-hosted server.

How to set up a self-hosted server

The maintained Hosting Wiki is the practical starting point for installation. Its setup overview covers configuration through launch, while its operating-system instructions explain installation. Because those guides are not exhaustive and their commands or tools may change, use the current pages instead of copying an old command sequence from a static article.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Choose the operating system guide. Open the Hosting Wiki’s server setup page and follow the Windows or Linux path for the machine you will dedicate to hosting. The Linux guide notes testing on Ubuntu 22.04; that note is not a guarantee for every Linux distribution or later release.
  2. Install the server files and update mechanism. The wiki’s Windows instructions describe downloading Alderon’s command-line tool, creating a server folder and building an update script. Its Linux instructions use a command-line installation path. Follow the current guide for the exact commands, branch and tool version rather than relying on an older copied script.
  3. Configure the server. Work through the current setup instructions and check each setting against the server version you installed. Do not presume an option documented for a provider or an older build works the same way on a self-hosted installation.
  4. Set rules and a message of the day. Put the community’s rules and player-facing expectations where people can find them. The Hosting Wiki overview includes both server rules and a message of the day in its setup sequence.
  5. Assign roles and admins. Decide who can administer the community and set up roles accordingly. Keep permissions aligned with the responsibilities you intend to delegate.
  6. Add optional community integrations and mods. The wiki overview includes optional Discord webhooks and in-game reports, followed by mod setup. Treat integrations and mods as optional, and check their current compatibility and setup instructions before enabling them.
  7. Learn the admin tools, then launch. Review the available administration tools before opening the server to players. The wiki’s setup flow places learning the tools before launch, which gives administrators a chance to understand how they will manage the community.

The Hosting Wiki’s broader overview is useful as a checklist of the work after installation: configuration, rules, MOTD, roles, optional integrations, mods, admin tools and launch. A server that starts successfully is not necessarily ready for a community; the operational decisions are part of setup.

How to connect a provider-hosted server

Provider onboarding is specific to the service and can change when its interface changes. Nitrado’s published guide says its Path of Titans setup requires a hosting token generated through Alderon’s hosting-token page, then entered in the Nitrado interface. The guide is older, so treat these as the documented workflow and verify the live panel labels before following it.

  1. Obtain a hosting token. Use the hosting-token page linked from Alderon’s instructions and generate the token required for your server.
  2. Open your provider’s server controls. In Nitrado’s documented workflow, enter the token in the relevant server settings area. Confirm the current interface and field name in the provider panel or current help documentation.
  3. Save the configuration. Apply the change in the panel before restarting; unsaved edits will not take effect.
  4. Restart the server. Nitrado’s guide says to restart after saving the token. Check the live status and connection details in the panel before sharing the server with players.

For the provider’s original instructions, see First Time Configurations for Path of Titans Server. Since that guide may not match the current interface, use the provider’s present panel labels if they differ.

Configure settings without losing changes

Nitrado’s 2022 configuration guide documents a file-based route for its Path of Titans servers. It identifies pathoftitans/PathOfTitans/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/Game.ini as the configuration file and says settings go below the [/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession] header, with one option on each line. The path and options are provider- and version-sensitive; verify them against the current server version and your provider before editing.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Stop the server first. Do not edit the configuration while the server is running. Nitrado’s instructions call for a stop, save and restart cycle.
  2. Open the documented configuration file. For the Nitrado guide’s route, locate pathoftitans/PathOfTitans/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/Game.ini. If your panel or server version uses another path, follow the current provider documentation.
  3. Use the correct section header. Place the options under [/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession], as described in the guide.
  4. Keep one setting per line. The guide documents options relating to server name, password, chat, fish and water. It does not establish that every option remains current for every present server version, so consult current documentation before adding or changing settings.
  5. Save, then restart. Restart the server after saving so the changes can take effect. If a change does not appear, check that the server was stopped during editing, the file was saved in the active server’s configuration location, and the setting is supported by that build and provider.

The Nitrado guide says MaxPlayers is not adjustable through its service and is available only for self-hosted servers. Do not treat that 2022 provider-specific statement as a universal rule for every host: verify current controls with your provider and Alderon’s current documentation.

Read the full Path Of Titans Server Configurations guide before using its setting examples. It was published in 2022; an old option name or file path should not be assumed to apply unchanged in 2026.

Budget and capacity: verify the live offer

Nitrado’s Path of Titans product page advertised a 16-player offer and configurable packages from 10 to 200 slots, with terms from 3 to 365 days, when the page was crawled in 2026. These are provider-advertised package dimensions, not independent tests of performance or reliability. Availability, price, package configuration and features can vary by geography or change over time; check the live Path of Titans hosting page before committing.

The same page advertised administration, supported mods or plugins, shared access, support, daily backups and DDoS protection. Treat these as sales-page claims about the offering, not guarantees about a particular package or independent service measurements. Confirm which features apply to your selected package, how backups can be restored, and what support covers. No price comparison or authoritative server-capacity benchmark is established by these sources.

Plan for ongoing community operations

Hosting is not finished when the server first launches. The Hosting Wiki’s setup overview makes clear that a community server also involves administration and player-facing decisions. Assign these responsibilities before opening the server, especially if more than one person will manage it.

What changed in 2026—and what remains uncertain

In its May 2026 developer blog, Alderon described self-hosting at that time as involving server software downloads, a dedicated machine and port forwarding. The blog discussed self-hosting and NAT punch-through improvements as work in progress, with a goal of making hosting more accessible. It did not establish that those changes have shipped by October 2026, so do not assume you can host simply by starting a game and inviting friends. Check Alderon’s current release notes or in-game documentation for an explicit launch announcement.

Alderon wrote, “With server self-hosting and NAT punch-through we are hoping to make server hosting much more accessible.” The same blog described a longer-term aim of letting a player start a game and invite friends, including cross-play, and noted that hosting can load a device enough to limit weaker hardware. These are development goals and caveats from the May 2026 post, not evidence of a currently released feature. See Dev Blog: May 2026 for Alderon’s wording.

Troubleshoot the most common setup problems

The provider setup does not accept the token

Check that you generated the token through Alderon’s hosting-token page, entered it in the correct provider server, saved the setting and restarted. If the current panel has changed from the older Nitrado guide, follow the live provider instructions rather than relying on an outdated field name.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A configuration edit has no effect

Use the stop-save-restart cycle, confirm you edited the active server’s configuration file, and make sure the setting is in the documented section with one option per line. Then verify that the option is supported by the current version and your hosting route. Nitrado’s 2022 path and examples may not match a later build or a different provider.

A setting is missing from a managed panel

Check the provider’s documentation for restrictions before trying to alter a file manually. Nitrado’s guide specifically says MaxPlayers is unavailable to its hosted customers and available only on self-hosted servers. Ask the provider whether a control is supported rather than assuming a file edit will bypass the restriction.

Installation instructions do not match your system

Return to the current Windows or Linux guide in the Hosting Wiki and verify the operating system, branch and tool version. The Linux guide’s Ubuntu 22.04 testing note does not establish compatibility with every distribution; the wiki also says its instructions are not exhaustive.

You cannot tell what machine or slot count you need

The cited official sources do not give authoritative CPU, memory, storage, bandwidth or player-capacity requirements. For self-hosting, do not infer a safe player limit from a machine’s specifications without current sizing guidance. For a provider, treat slot counts as package options and ask the provider what the selected plan supports in your region.
