Install an Early Access game from the store or console account where you bought or claimed it: open its store page or library listing, choose Install or Download, and let the download finish. The exact steps depend on the platform, and a purchase on one storefront does not automatically grant a copy on another.
Before you install: check the game and account
Early Access means the game is available while it is still in development. Its current build may change before full release, and the finished game may differ from what you install today. On Steam, read the game’s Early Access section and look at its current screenshots and trailers before buying or downloading; Steam warns that some projects may not be completed. Steam’s Early Access FAQ explains the model.
- Use the storefront or console account that owns the game entitlement.
- Check that the listing is the Early Access version you intend to play.
- Sign in to the account associated with the purchase or redemption before checking the library.
Install on Steam
- Sign in to Steam with the account that owns the game.
- Open the game’s Steam store page or find it in your Library.
- Select the install option and follow Steam’s prompts to choose a location, if asked.
- Wait for the download and installation to finish, then launch the game from Steam.
Steam says purchasing an Early Access game gives immediate access to download and play its current form. Its normal refund policy applies; eligibility depends on purchase date and playtime, so a refund is not guaranteed. See Steam’s Early Access FAQ for details.
Install through Epic Games Launcher on PC
- Open Epic Games Launcher and sign in to the account that bought or redeemed the game through Epic Games Store.
- Select Library.
- Select the game, choose an install location, and select Install.
- Wait for the download to complete; Epic says the game can be launched once it has finished.
If the game is missing, first check that you are signed into the Epic account used for the purchase or redemption. Epic’s game installation instructions cover the launcher steps.

Download on PlayStation
- On your console, open Game Library > Purchased.
- Select the game you want to install.
- Choose Download and let the download finish.
For a remote download, PlayStation requires a PS5 logged into the account or a PS4 activated as that account’s primary PS4. To have a remote download begin when the console next turns on, automatic downloads must be enabled. See PlayStation’s game download instructions for the current setup details.
What if the game is not in your library?
- Confirm that you are signed into the account that purchased or redeemed the game.
- Check the library for the storefront where you obtained it; an Epic Games Store entitlement, for example, belongs in the Epic Games Launcher library.
- Make sure you are looking at the correct platform listing. A PC purchase does not by itself establish access to a console copy.
- If it is still missing, consult that platform’s current support instructions with the game’s name and the exact error or message.
Xbox and other platforms
Installation menus and Early Access programs are platform-specific. The steps above are verified for Steam, Epic Games Launcher on PC, and PlayStation; they should not be treated as universal instructions. For Xbox Game Preview or another platform, use the current store or support instructions for the specific game and console.
