Install each Workshop item, make its folder visible to the server, then load all client-required folders in one semicolon-separated -mod value. Keep server-only logic in -serverMod (or a hosting panel’s -servermods field). SteamCMD can download several DayZ Workshop items in one batch, but batching does not solve dependencies, load order, signing keys, or client-version mismatches.

The multi-mod setup in one view
A DayZ Standalone server does not use a separate launch switch for every mod. The executable accepts one multi-entry value: folder names are separated with semicolons. A typical Windows launch line looks like this:

Replace them with the folders that actually exist in your server directory. -mod is for content that joining players must also load. -serverMod is for server-side-only logic that should not be sent to clients. Downloading several Workshop items is a different operation from loading them. SteamCMD can fetch the items in one invocation, but the server will ignore content that is in the wrong directory, named differently from the launch entry, blocked by a missing key, or ordered after a dependency that it needs first.

Choose the correct parameter before you install

Some hosting panels rename these fields. A panel may display -mods for the client-required list and -servermods for server-only content, even though the official executable reference uses -mod and -serverMod. Use the label and syntax expected by your provider rather than copying a field name from another panel.
Prepare the mod list
Stop the server first
Stop the DayZ process before downloading, replacing, renaming or relinking mod files. Updating while the executable is running can leave a mixture of old and new files and makes startup errors harder to diagnose. Keep a recent copy of your configuration and, where practical, the existing mod folders so that you can roll back an update.
Record Workshop IDs and folder names
Open each Workshop item and copy its numeric ID from the item URL. Make a list with four columns: Workshop ID, the folder name that will be present on disk, whether players need it, and any dependencies or required load order stated by the author. The numeric ID is used by SteamCMD; the folder name is what the launch parameter uses. They are not interchangeable.
Read every item’s documentation for required frameworks, libraries, maps, optional components and server-only instructions. A collection can make downloading convenient, but it does not automatically reconcile incompatible versions or decide the correct dependency order.
Self-hosted Windows or Linux procedure
1. Download the Workshop items with SteamCMD
The official Linux example uses multiple workshop_download_item commands in one SteamCMD invocation. Substitute the real IDs from your list:

+quit221100 is the DayZ Workshop app ID used by that documented download example. The WORKSHOP_ID_* values above are variables, not IDs to paste literally. Add one command for each item. Running the commands in a single session is a batch download; it does not merge the files into one mod.

The exact absolute path depends on your SteamCMD installation and operating system. Locate each downloaded item before editing the launch line, and confirm that the expected mod data and any supplied key files are present.
2. Make the folders visible to DayZ
DayZ must be able to resolve every folder named after -mod or -serverMod. Use the layout expected by your server provider or installation. Common approaches are:
- Copy the downloaded mod folder beside the DayZ server executable and give it a stable name such as
@CF. - Use a symbolic link on Linux or a junction on Windows from the server directory to the Workshop content directory.
- Follow a managed host’s prescribed import or installation function, which may create the links for you.
Keep names stable after the first successful setup. If you rename @Framework to @Framework-2026, the launch argument must change at the same time. A correct Workshop ID does not help if the folder name in the command line no longer matches the directory on disk.
3. Separate client and server-only content
Build two lists from the documentation you recorded. Put every mod that changes assets, gameplay data, maps, interfaces or scripts required by players in the client list. Put explicitly server-only administration or backend logic in the server-only list. If an author says a component is server-only, do not add it to the client list merely because it was downloaded from Workshop.

For a Windows batch file, the structure is:
DayZServer_x64.exe -config=serverDZ.cfg -port=2302 -profiles=profiles -mod=@Framework;@AdminTools;@MapPack -serverMod=@ServerAutomation -dologs -adminlogOn a Linux shell, quote the complete semicolon-delimited value so the shell does not treat semicolons as command separators:
./DayZServer -config=serverDZ.cfg -port=2302 -profiles=profiles '-mod=@Framework;@AdminTools;@MapPack' '-serverMod=@ServerAutomation' -dologs -adminlogUse the executable name, configuration path and profile path appropriate to your installation. The important parts are the single multi-folder values and the distinction between the two parameters.
4. Put dependencies before dependent mods
Order the entries according to each mod’s documentation. Frameworks and libraries normally precede the mods that call them. For example, a framework folder belongs before an admin tool that requires that framework. The fact that all items were downloaded together does not make an arbitrary order safe, and a collection’s visual order is not a guarantee unless its author says so.
If two authors specify conflicting versions of the same library, stop and resolve that conflict before starting the server. Do not try to fix a dependency error by repeatedly changing the order when the underlying versions are incompatible.

5. Refresh signing keys
When a mod supplies .bikey files, copy the current keys into the server’s keys directory using the layout required by your installation. Refresh them whenever the mod author replaces or rotates keys during an update. Stale or missing keys can produce signature-verification failures even when the mod folders and launch argument are correct.

6. Start once and read the logs
Start the server with logging enabled and watch the startup output rather than assuming that a clean process launch means every mod loaded. Check for:
- Missing addon or missing class messages, which usually indicate a missing dependency, an incorrect folder name or an order problem.
- Signature or key errors, which point to the
keysdirectory or an out-of-date signed file. - Script exceptions and configuration errors, which may require a mod-specific setup step after installation.
- Warnings that identify a server-only package placed in the client list, or a client-required package omitted from it.
Only invite players after the server reaches a normal ready state and the first test connection succeeds.
Installing several mods through a hosting panel
Managed providers automate some of the file work, but you still need to activate the folders in the panel’s command line and respect each mod’s requirements. Panel terminology and workflows differ, so do not assume that a setting from one provider exists under the same name elsewhere.
Host Havoc workflow
Host Havoc’s guide, updated 10 June 2026, says its panel can install a Workshop collection in one operation. It also allows an administrator to paste a collection URL to install multiple mods at once. After the files are installed, add the resulting mod folder names to the command line separated by semicolons, save or select that command line, and restart the server.
The guide distinguishes its -mods field from -servermods for server-only content. Verify the exact folder names shown by the panel after installation; a collection URL identifies items for download, while the command line still needs the local folder names.

GTXGaming workflow
GTXGaming’s documented sequence is:
- Stop the server.
- Open the provider’s Workshop-mod function.
- Enter the ModIDs in the semicolon-delimited form
@ModID1;@ModID2;@ModID3;used by its guide. - Use Steam Workshop’s Installed Content batch action to reinstall all listed items when required.
- Complete any extra configuration requested by the individual mods.
- Start the server and inspect its logs and a test connection.
The trailing semicolon shown in that provider’s input format is a panel-specific convention. Follow the field’s current help text rather than adding a trailing delimiter to an executable command line that does not expect one.

Panel checklist
- Stop the instance before changing the collection, ModID list or command line.
- Confirm whether the panel expects
-modsor-mod, and-servermodsor-serverMod. - Save and select the edited command line; some panels keep several command-line profiles and will continue using the previously selected one.
- Check whether the provider installs a collection but leaves dependency configuration, keys or per-mod settings to you.
- Restart only after the installation and command-line changes are saved.
Updating a multi-mod server safely
- Stop the server and record the currently working mod list and order.
- Update or reinstall the Workshop items through SteamCMD or the provider’s Workshop tool.
- Compare the resulting folder names with the launch parameter; remove obsolete entries and add newly required dependencies.
- Refresh supplied
.bikeyfiles in the server’skeysdirectory. - Recheck the mod author’s notes for changed load order, migration steps or additional configuration.
- Start the server, review startup logs, and test with a client using the same mod versions.
If an update breaks the server, stop it again and restore the last known-good folders and command line. Change one mod or dependency at a time when isolating the failure; replacing the entire collection at once removes the evidence needed to identify the incompatible item.
Troubleshooting by symptom
The server starts, but players are kicked
- Check that every client-required mod is in the
-modlist, not only installed on the server. - Have clients update to the same Workshop versions the server is using.
- Refresh the current signing keys and confirm the server is reading the intended
keysdirectory. - Compare the actual folder names, including capitalization and punctuation where the operating system or provider treats them as significant.
Missing classes or startup errors appear
- Read the first missing class or addon named in the log; later errors can be consequences of that first failure.
- Install the required framework or library and place it before the dependent mod.
- Check whether the mod author requires a separate server-only package or a configuration file.
- Remove duplicate copies of the same library so DayZ is not resolving an unintended version.
The files download, but no mod loads
- Verify the executable parameter spelling and use the panel’s expected variant where applicable.
- Confirm that semicolons separate entries and that the argument is not accidentally split into multiple shell commands.
- Ensure the command uses local folder names, not Workshop numeric IDs.
- Check that links, junctions or copied folders point to the content actually downloaded by SteamCMD.
An update suddenly causes signature or script failures
- Stop the server before replacing files.
- Update or reinstall the affected Workshop content.
- Copy the newly supplied
.bikeyfiles intokeys. - Review the updated documentation for a changed dependency, order or configuration requirement.
- Restart and inspect logs before allowing public players to connect.
Self-hosting versus a managed panel

Choose self-hosting when you need unrestricted access to files and launch parameters and are comfortable maintaining the operating system. Choose a managed panel when collection imports, batch installation and a web restart workflow are worth giving up some low-level control. Neither option removes the need to keep dependencies, versions and keys aligned.
A repeatable checklist for every new mod batch
- Stop the server and back up the working command line.
- Record each Workshop ID and read its dependency, client/server and load-order notes.
- Download all items with SteamCMD or the panel’s collection/ModID function.
- Verify that every downloaded folder is visible beside or linked into the server installation.
- Build the client list with semicolon-separated folder names and a separate server-only list.
- Place frameworks and libraries before the mods that depend on them.
- Refresh supplied signing keys.
- Save the command line, restart, inspect logs and test with a matching client.
- Document the final folder names, order and versions so the next update can be compared with a known-good state.
What the single command does—and does not do
A semicolon-separated parameter solves the launch-time problem of loading several folders at once. A SteamCMD batch solves the download-time problem of fetching several Workshop items in one session. They do not automatically install dependencies, choose between conflicting versions, copy keys, configure individual mods, or synchronize clients. Treat downloading, file placement, launch configuration and validation as four separate checks, and a large mod list becomes manageable instead of opaque.
