To host a PEAK lobby with more than four players, install PEAK Unlimited by glarmer. The host needs the mod to raise the player cap; invited players do not need it to join. The mod author lists a default maximum of 20, but recommends choosing a lower cap if your party does not need all the slots, since large groups can make the game unstable.
Before you install: check the current version
PEAK Unlimited’s version and compatibility can change with game updates. At the time its Thunderstore listing was accessed in 2026, it showed version 4.0.1 and described the mod as compatible with the latest game update. Check the official Thunderstore listing and its Versions tab immediately before installing rather than relying on that version number.
The mod author identifies GitHub, Thunderstore, and Nexus Mods as official distribution pages and warns against downloads from other sites. Use the author’s GitHub repository or official Thunderstore listing, not a repackaged DLL or file mirror.
Choose an installation method

Install with a mod manager
- Install and open r2modman or Gale, then choose PEAK as the game.
- Create a profile or select the profile you want to use for the modded game.
- Search for PEAK Unlimited by glarmer and install it, including the PEAK-specific BepInEx dependency offered by the manager.
- Launch PEAK through the manager’s modded launch option, then host a lobby.
Install manually
- Open the PEAK install folder. In Steam, go to Library, right-click PEAK, choose Manage → Browse Local Files. The author’s default Windows path is
C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonPEAK; your Steam library may be in a different location. - Install the PEAK BepInEx pack. Download the pack linked from the author’s official page and extract it into the PEAK game directory. Use the PEAK-specific pack, not a generic BepInEx installation intended for another game.
- Start PEAK once, then close it. This first launch lets BepInEx create its initial files and folders.
- Add the mod DLL. Download the
PeakUnlimited.dllpackage from glarmer’s official Thunderstore page and put the DLL inPEAKBepInExplugins. - Launch PEAK and host a lobby. The host’s modded game applies the increased lobby cap.
The community’s PEAK mod installation guide describes the game as a Steam PC game. For Linux players running through Proton, the mod author documents this Steam launch option: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" %command%.
Set a lobby size that fits your group
The author lists 20 players as PEAK Unlimited’s default maximum. Set the cap to the number of people you actually expect to play rather than leaving room for a larger group by default: the author warns that high player counts may make PEAK unstable because the game requires more system resources. No particular hardware requirement or guaranteed stable player count is established.

- Open the in-game mod menu with F2 and adjust the player maximum.

PEAKBepInExconfigPeakUnlimited.cfg. - The mod also exposes settings for marshmallow and backpack counts, including an option to disable extra marshmallows.
Who needs the mod?
Only the host needs PEAK Unlimited to expand the lobby cap and access the mod’s extra group supplies. Other players can join through the normal invitation flow without installing it. Installing on clients is optional: the author says it fixes end-screen presentation; in lobbies larger than eight, it can also restore audio sliders for later players and improve name tags.
What else the mod changes
Beyond the player cap, the author lists extra marshmallows, backpack spawn scaling, marshmallows for late joiners, an end-screen fix, a host control for advancing the lobby, an optional host-only starting kiosk, and an option to gather players in the helicopter at the end screen. These are features described by the mod author, not independently tested performance or gameplay results.

If something goes wrong
- The mod does not load: confirm that you used the PEAK-specific BepInEx pack and put
PeakUnlimited.dllinPEAKBepInExplugins. - The game becomes unstable in a large group: lower the player cap in the F2 menu or config file and try again with fewer players.
- You need to report a problem: the author advises removing mods and checking whether the issue still occurs in unmodded PEAK before reporting it.
