Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →In Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 on PC, press Esc, choose Invite Friends, then select your friend in the EA overlay. This menu sequence comes from a Steam community answer dated April 8, 2025; EA’s current help page does not provide step-by-step invite instructions.
Before you send an invite
- Steam edition: Link the EA Account you use for the game to Steam. The Steam listing says an EA Account is required and must be linked.
- EA friendship: The community instructions recommend that you and your friend add each other as EA friends.
- Launchers: Have both Steam and the EA app running when you launch and invite.
How to invite a friend on PC
- Launch the game with Steam and the EA app running.
- Press Esc to open the pause menu.
- Select Invite Friends.
- When the EA overlay opens, choose the online friend you want to invite.
The exact menu flow and launcher advice are reported in a Steam community answer dated April 8, 2025, rather than in EA’s current Garden Warfare 2 help page. The interface may change with game or launcher updates.
If your friend does not appear
- Confirm the EA Account is linked to Steam if you play the Steam edition.
- Check that you have added one another as EA friends and that your friend is online.
- Make sure the EA app and Steam are running, then reopen the invite menu.
- If the problem persists, use EA’s current support resources for account linking, the EA app, and connection troubleshooting. EA’s help page does not identify one universal fix for missing or failed invites.
How many friends can join?
EA’s PC manual describes private matches with up to three additional friends. EA’s Backyard Battleground announcement also says you can invite up to three friends into that hub. These are separate, mode-specific descriptions; they do not establish a universal friend limit for every mode.
Does PC support cross-play?
The available evidence does not establish whether PC players can join console players, or whether Steam and EA app PC players can match with one another. Do not assume either compatibility from the invite steps above.
