To invite Roblox friends to play together, open the Chat tab (called Party for some users), select Start Party, choose your friends, and select Start. To play an experience together, open the Party menu, choose Play, select an experience, then select Join with Party.
Invite friends to a new Roblox Party
- Open the Chat tab. Some accounts may still show Party while Roblox rolls out the new label by region.
- Select Start Party.
- Choose the Roblox friends you want to invite.
- Select Start.
You can also start a Party from a friend or group chat by selecting Start in the top-right corner. The standard Party invitation flow is for people who are already your Roblox friends. Roblox Support’s Party FAQ says a Party can include up to six users.
Add friends to a Party that is already open
Open the menu on the Party sheet, select Add Friends, then choose the friends to invite. This uses the same existing-friends requirement as starting a Party.
Invite the Party to an experience
- As a Party member, open the Party menu.
- Select Play and choose an experience.
- Select Join with Party.
The other Party members receive invitations to join that experience. A member can choose to play a different experience and remain connected to the Party.

Join a friend who is already playing
If the friend is already in an experience, search for their username or open their profile. When they allow others to join and you can access the experience, select Join Experience on their profile.
If that button is missing, the friend may have disabled joining, the experience may not be accessible to your account, or you may not have permission to enter it.

Share an invite link with someone who is not your Roblox friend
Some experiences provide Invite Friends in the in-game menu. In those experiences, the invite page may offer Share with people you know, which provides a link you can send to someone who is not on Roblox or has not used it before. This option is experience-dependent, so it is not a replacement for the standard Party flow.
Some participating experiences also offer referral rewards. The creator sets whether rewards are available and what the invitee must do to qualify; check the reward banner’s information details in that experience.
Check privacy and account settings if invitations or joining do not work
Roblox’s join and status controls are under Settings > Privacy & content restrictions > Visibility & private servers > Visibility. Online Status and Show current experience affect what other people can see. Available choices can depend on age and region.

Communication access and labels also vary with age group, age check, region, and privacy or parental controls. Roblox is rolling out the Chat label for users over 9; younger users may continue to see Party. Parents can manage children’s Party access through parental controls, including Party and Group Party settings. Blocking another user prevents direct contact, including friend requests, experience invitations, and Party invitations.
