To invite a friend on UNO for PC, add them as a friend in Ubisoft Connect, wait for them to accept, then invite them from UNO’s Groups tab. A pending friend request is not enough for them to appear in your in-game friends list.
Before you start: add each other in Ubisoft Connect
- Open Ubisoft Connect on your PC and sign in to your Ubisoft account.
- Open Social, search for your friend’s Ubisoft username, and select Add to friends.
- Ask your friend to accept the request. Ubisoft says they appear in your friends list after accepting. If they do not show up, check that you searched the right username and that the request is no longer pending.
Ubisoft’s PC friend-management instructions describe how to add friends through Ubisoft Connect.
Invite your friend from UNO
- Launch UNO and open the Groups tab.
- Select your friend from the Ubisoft Connect friends list and send the game invite.
- Have your friend accept the invitation and join the session.
Ubisoft’s UNO group guidance says to become Ubisoft Connect friends first, then invite through the Groups tab. Its Steam announcement put it this way: “Then you simply head to the groups tab and invite your friends through the friends list.” That guidance was published in an announcement, not a recently updated manual. UNO’s official game page describes online play with friends.
If your UNO invite does not work
Check the friend request first
Confirm that your friend accepted your Ubisoft Connect request and that their username is correct. If they are absent from the in-game list, resolve that first rather than troubleshooting the match lobby.

- UNO card game provides classic play, where players match colors or numbers in a race to get rid of all their cards!
- Action Cards and Wild Cards add unexpected excitement and game-changing fun, like the Reverse Card that switches the direction of play!
- The deck includes 3 blank Wild Cards for house rules anyone can make up -- erase and create new rules each game!
- When down to one card, players don't want to forget to yell 'UNO!' Keep score and the first player or team to 500 wins!
- The color blind accessible deck has special graphic symbols on each card to help identify its color, allowing players with any form of color blindness to play!
Try the lobby-unlock workaround
Ubisoft Support suggested this workaround in a Steam response dated September 26, 2022. Menu names or behavior may have changed since then, so treat it as a troubleshooting attempt, not a guaranteed current fix:
- Choose Online Play, then Classic Match, and create a match.
- Select the deck theme and match type, then enter the lobby.
- Select Unlock Lobby.
- Retry the invitation through the Ubisoft Connect overlay.
The steps come from Ubisoft Support’s 2022 response on Steam.

- UNO Show 'em No Mercy game adds 56 more cards, special rules and super-tough action cards for the most brutal edition of UNO ever!
- Tougher action cards, such as Skip Everyone, Wild Draw 6 and even Wild Draw 10 make game play merciless!
- The Stacking Rule lets players pass the penalty (Draw +2, +4, +6, +10) to the next player until whoever can't play has to take all the cards combined!
- Whenever a '7' or a '0' card is played, players must swap hands with another player!
- The Mercy Rule means that if any player gets 25+ cards in their hand, they are out of the game!
If your friend accepts but still cannot join
Ubisoft’s UNO Steam announcement feed has recorded a multiplayer-connectivity fix for a case in which players could not join after accepting an invite. That shows this type of problem has occurred and may depend on the game update; it does not establish that every current invite issue is fixed. Check the UNO Steam announcements for relevant update information.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can a PC player invite someone on another platform?
Ubisoft’s cross-platform guidance describes adding players as Ubisoft Connect friends before inviting them through Groups. However, older Ubisoft Support replies in a Steam discussion said cross-play was not enabled at the time. The available guidance does not settle the current compatibility of every console, PC storefront, or game version. Check whether the specific platform your friend uses can join your PC lobby before relying on cross-platform play.

- UNO card game in collectible tin container provides classic play, matching colors or numbers in a race to get rid of cards!
- Includes 2 Add-On Packs, each with 16 cards to customize the game deck!
- Reverse Add-On Pack cards give players several ways to change the direction of play!
- Stack Add-On Pack cards may have players calling each other names as they add more (and more) cards to their stack of cards!
- When you're down to one card, don't forget to yell 'UNO!' Keep score and the first player or team to 500 wins!
Ubisoft’s cross-platform guidance was published through its Steam announcement channel; it should not be read as a guarantee of current, universal platform compatibility. The Ubisoft Store lists UNO multiplayer for up to four players, but that general capacity does not guarantee every mode or setup supports the same configuration: Ubisoft Store listing.
