To join an Assetto Corsa Competizione server, start the game, choose Multiplayer, open Server List, find the server by its exact name or browse the list, then select it and choose Connect (or confirm the selection). If the server is private, enter the password from its organizer when prompted and select Confirm. You do not need to run a dedicated server to join someone else’s session.
Godlike.Host offers hosted Assetto Corsa servers with its own game panel, SFTP access and free DDoS protection, if you would rather not host it yourself.
Fastest way to join an ACC server
Have the organizer’s exact server name, password if one is required, and any league or competition instructions ready before launching the game. Then follow this path:

- Start Assetto Corsa Competizione and wait for the main menu.
- Select Multiplayer.
- Open Server List. On console, 505 Games places this option in the lower-right area of the Multiplayer screen.
- Search for the organizer’s exact server name, or browse the available entries.
- Select the correct result and choose Connect. Some versions present this as confirming the selected server.
- If the server is private, type the password supplied by the organizer and select Confirm.
- Wait for the session to load. The server determines whether you can enter immediately, how many grid places are available, which rules apply, and what session is currently running.
If you cannot find the server, do not start by changing random network settings. First verify the name, online status, password requirement, and the type of server you were asked to join. Those checks distinguish a normal discovery problem from a platform or network fault.
Where the server list fits in ACC multiplayer
ACC presents multiplayer through several different routes rather than one universal lobby. The correct route depends on whether you want an open public race, a rating-based competition session, or a privately organized league event.

| Multiplayer route | How you find a session | What can control entry | Typical purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Public Multiplayer | Browse or filter the server list, or use Quick Join | Server availability, current capacity, and any password or server rules | Community or official servers and shorter, casual races |
| Competition Servers | Use the competition area and its available matches | Competition Rating and the split or match offered to you | More serious, longer-form racing with rating-based grouping |
| Private leagues | Search for the league’s server or follow the organizer’s instructions | Password, invitation, league rules, schedule, and sometimes driver or rating requirements | Organized championships, endurance races, and driver-swap events |
505 Games also describes a personalized server list and a Quick Join option. Quick Join attempts to connect you to a suitable available match, while the filtered list lets you choose a specific server yourself. The recommendation system can take account of preferences such as night or rain races, latency, and particular tracks. These are discovery preferences; they do not override a private password, a full grid, or a league’s own admission rules.
How to find a specific server
Use the exact name first
When a friend or league administrator gives you a server name, enter it exactly as provided. Preserve spaces, punctuation, capitalization where the search interface requires it, and any identifying suffix. A partial or slightly different name can return no result or several similarly named entries.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Ask the organizer for the current name rather than relying on an old screenshot. Administrators can change a server’s displayed name, stop an instance between events, or run more than one session with similar naming.
Browse when search does not help
If the organizer did not provide a name, open the server list and browse the available entries. Check the displayed session details before connecting so that you do not enter the wrong event. A public server can be visible while its current session, track, weather, or available places differ from what you expected.
A server can also be absent because it is offline, full, outside the list you are viewing, or restricted to a competition or private group. Treat “not visible” as a status question first, not proof that your game installation is broken.
Use Quick Join for an open match
Quick Join is useful when you care more about getting into an appropriate race than about selecting a particular community. Kunos Simulazioni and 505 Games describe ACC as having multiplayer matchmaking: selecting Quick Join automatically connects you to what the system considers the theoretical best match. A filtered personalized list is the better choice when you need a particular track, weather preference, latency profile, or named server.

A private server follows the same menu path as a public one until the password prompt. Select Multiplayer, open Server List, locate the named server, select it, and connect. When ACC asks for the password, enter the value exactly as sent by the organizer and confirm.

Passwords are only one part of a private event’s access policy. The organizer may also require an invitation, a league registration, a specific race schedule, or an instruction to join only during a practice, qualifying, or race window. If the password works but entry is still refused, ask which additional rule is blocking access rather than repeatedly retyping it.
On console, 505 Games’ documented wording is to select the server, enter the password when prompted, and select Confirm. Menu placement can differ from PC presentation, but the essential sequence remains Multiplayer → Server List → server selection → password, if required → confirmation.
Competition servers and rating-based entry
Competition Servers are not simply another name for a password-protected public lobby. They are intended for serious, longer races and use Competition Rating to determine splits. That means the system may place you in a particular split or make a match unavailable when your rating or eligibility does not meet the event’s conditions.
Recommended Free Tools
If an organizer tells you to join a competition session, use the competition route or the exact listing they identify rather than assuming every server will appear in the ordinary public list. A missing entry can reflect the event’s rating or split rules, not a search error.
What happens after you select Connect
After you confirm the server, ACC loads the session if the entry is accepted. Several outcomes are controlled by the administrator and cannot be changed from the join screen:
- Grid capacity: The server may have no remaining places even though it is visible.
- Current session: You may arrive in practice, qualifying, or a race that has already started, depending on the event schedule.
- Organizer rules: League formats, driving standards, car restrictions, pit procedures, and penalties come from the server’s configuration or league instructions.
- Session timing: You might need to wait for the next session or restart if joining is closed during a transition.
Read the organizer’s instructions before connecting when the event is structured. Joining the correct server is not the same as being cleared to drive in every session currently running there.
Troubleshooting a server you cannot see or join
The official join instructions explain the normal route but do not publish a complete, current error matrix covering every platform and connection failure. Use this order of checks so that each possibility is eliminated once.

1. Recheck the server name
Compare the name in your Multiplayer search with the organizer’s latest message. Look for an omitted space, punctuation mark, number, or suffix. If the administrator recently renamed the instance, an old saved name will not find it.
2. Ask whether the server is online
A stopped or restarting instance will not be searchable. Ask the organizer whether the server is currently running and whether it is in a transition between sessions. If other players also cannot see it, that strongly points to server availability rather than your local search.
3. Check whether the grid is full
A visible server can stop accepting new drivers when its places are occupied. Wait for a place to open or ask the organizer whether spectators or late joins are permitted. Do not assume that repeatedly selecting Connect will reserve a slot.
4. Confirm the server category
Determine whether you were given a public server, Competition Server, or private-league event. Public listings, competition matches, and organizer-controlled leagues can have different discovery and admission rules. A private event may require a direct name and password; a competition event may depend on Competition Rating or split eligibility.

Request the current password if the prompt rejects yours. Check for accidental spaces at the beginning or end, letter-and-number substitutions, and an expired password from a previous event. If the organizer has changed it, only the new value will work.
6. Check timing and session state
Some events accept drivers only during a specified practice or pre-race period. Ask whether the race has already started, whether late entry is disabled, or whether you should wait for the next session. A server can be online and correctly configured while refusing a join at that moment.
7. Escalate persistent connection failures separately
If the server is confirmed online, has capacity, your name and password are correct, and the event category is appropriate, the remaining problem may involve the platform or network. The available official material does not establish one universal fix for every such error. Record the exact message, platform, and point at which the connection fails, then use platform-specific ACC or network support. Avoid treating a single console, PC, or router remedy as a guaranteed solution for all players.

PC and console differences
The core join process is shared, but labels and placement can differ. The documented console path puts Server List in the lower-right area of the Multiplayer screen and uses Confirm after a private-server password is entered. On another platform, the same action may be presented as selecting the result and pressing Connect.
When helping another player, give instructions using the labels visible on that player’s screen rather than assuming your controller, keyboard, or menu layout is identical. The reliable landmarks are the Multiplayer menu, the Server List, the named server, and the final connection or confirmation action.
Joining versus hosting your own ACC server
Joining is a client action: you locate an existing session and request entry. It does not require you to run a dedicated server or manage configuration files.
Hosting is a separate administrator task. A host must create and manage a server instance, start and stop it, monitor its status, inspect logs, and handle configuration import or export. Those responsibilities belong in a host-your-own-server guide. If your only goal is to race in a friend’s event, ask for the server name, password, schedule, and any league requirements instead of trying to install hosting tools.
Choosing the right way to enter a race
Use this decision guide before opening the list:
- You want any suitable open race: choose Quick Join.
- You want to control track, weather, latency, or a named community: use the personalized or manually filtered server list.
- You have a friend’s exact server name and password: search that name, select the result, and authenticate when prompted.
- You were assigned a split or told to meet a Competition Rating requirement: use the competition route and follow the event’s eligibility instructions.
- You are joining a league: follow the organizer’s name, password, invitation, schedule, and conduct rules; the league’s instructions take precedence over generic public-server assumptions.
These choices prevent a common mistake: looking for a private league in a Quick Join result, or expecting a rating-gated competition match to behave like an unrestricted public lobby.
Information to request from a server organizer
When someone says “join my ACC server,” ask for all of the details that affect discovery and entry:
- The server’s current exact displayed name.
- Whether it is public, private, a competition event, or a league session.
- The password, if required, and whether it is case-sensitive in the organizer’s instructions.
- The planned date and time, including the time zone if the group is distributed.
- Whether the server is currently online and whether late joining is allowed.
- Any Competition Rating, split, invitation, registration, or league requirement.
- The expected session type and event rules, including whether the current race is already underway.
Having these details turns “I cannot see it” into a specific check: wrong name, offline instance, full grid, restricted category, incorrect password, or closed session.
Practical checklist
Run through this short checklist immediately before a scheduled event:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Launch ACC and open Multiplayer.
- Choose Server List.
- Search the exact name or use the organizer’s chosen discovery method.
- Confirm that the listing matches the expected event.
- Select it and choose Connect or the platform’s confirmation command.
- Enter the private password, if prompted, and select Confirm.
- If entry fails, verify online status, capacity, server category, password, and session timing in that order.
The key distinction is between finding a server and being admitted to its current session. ACC’s menus handle discovery and the connection request; the server’s configuration, capacity, rating rules, and league instructions decide what happens next.
