To be considered, register through EA’s Playtesting Portal with an EA Account and link your platform account. Registration does not guarantee an invitation; EA emails selected players.
How do I join Battlefield Labs?
- Go to EA’s Battlefield Labs page and open the Playtesting Portal.
- Sign in with your EA Account, or create one, then register for the playtest and link the platform account you plan to use.
- Wait for an email from EA if selected. EA’s Help article identifies [email protected] as the sender; check EA’s official guidance before trusting an unexpected message.
Registering puts you in consideration; it does not reserve a place or provide immediate access. EA does not say that buying Battlefield 6 is required to register or guarantees a Labs invitation.
Can anyone play Battlefield Labs?
No. Participation is invitation-based. EA’s current Help article says the initial participant group is in Europe and North America, with expansion to Asia-Pacific planned. That is not confirmation that the expansion has happened, so check the portal and current session terms for your region.
Labs is separate from public game availability or an open beta: registering for Labs is not the same as gaining access to a public test.

What platforms is Battlefield Labs on?
EA lists PC through the EA app, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. EA’s FAQ says PlayStation Plus is required on PS5 and Xbox Game Pass Core is required on Xbox Series X|S, but its current joining article does not include those subscription details. Confirm the requirements for the specific session before joining.

What should participants expect?
Labs uses unfinished content. EA warns that tests can have rough edges, bugs, and crashes. A session may focus on a specific goal—such as combat, map layout, or general impressions—rather than offering a preview of the complete game. EA says it reviews feedback to help decide what to prioritize, improve, or change.

Participants must sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). They may submit feedback directly and through a private Discord channel, but must not publicly discuss or show their Labs experience. EA says public recaps and updates will keep people who were not selected informed.

Labs began as pre-alpha testing for the next Battlefield and continued after Battlefield 6 launched. In a 2026 community update, EA said it was testing three Season 5 maps and planned to let players try the Server Browser in Labs before its intended release. The update also described planned tests for map reworks and features. Those announcements are milestones, not confirmation that a particular session is still open; check EA’s current Labs page for active opportunities.

When EA announced Labs on February 3, 2025, Vince Zampella, then Head of Respawn and Group GM for EA Studios Organization, said: “This game has so much potential. To find that potential, with us being pre-alpha, now is the time to test the experiences our teams have been building for our upcoming launch. Battlefield Labs empowers our teams to do that.” The original announcement explains the program’s pre-alpha beginnings; later updates establish its continued role in testing Battlefield 6.
