To join the Goth Clique in BitLife, open the character’s School menu, select Cliques, choose Goths or Goth Clique, then use the option to join or start hanging out. Guides consistently report that low Looks and low Happiness improve your chances, but no official, confirmed stat cutoff is established.
How to join the Goth Clique
- Reach school. Continue your character’s life until the School menu offers clique options. Guides place access during school or high school, but they do not establish one universal age or grade.
- Open the clique list. Go to School > Cliques and select Goths or Goth Clique, depending on the label shown in your game.
- Apply or start hanging out. Choose the available join option. If the clique rejects you, adjust your character’s stats and try again.
The school/clique route is described by Pro Game Guides and Dexerto. Their instructions are secondary gameplay guides, not official BitLife rules.

What to do if the Goths reject you
Lower Happiness
Repeatedly applying to cliques your character is unlikely to join—and being rejected—is one reported way to lower Happiness. Pro Game Guides and ISK Mogul Adventures describe this tactic. It is not a guaranteed mechanic; check your character’s Happiness after each attempt and retry when it is lower.
Keep Looks low
Low Looks is another commonly reported requirement. Dexerto gives a specific figure—below 20%—but the other cited guides say only to keep Looks low. Because the figure is not corroborated by those guides or an official rules source, treat it as an unconfirmed guide-specific suggestion, not a guaranteed cutoff.

Optional character setup
Pro Game Guides suggests rerolling a character for lower Looks or using God Mode to set Looks, if that feature is available to you. Neither is necessary to try joining, and the guide does not establish that either method guarantees acceptance.
Why the exact requirement is uncertain
The available guides agree on the general approach—use the school clique menu and aim for low Looks and Happiness—but they do not establish a complete set of eligibility rules. If you are rejected despite lowering those stats, the evidence does not point to a confirmed threshold or another specific hidden condition. Keep the stats low and retry rather than relying on a precise number.

Goth Clique and the Twilight Challenge
Joining the Goths appeared as one objective in Pro Game Guides’ Twilight Challenge walkthrough, updated in 2021. That guide also lists objectives involving being born female in Phoenix, marrying the first boy dated before age 20, and having a daughter named Renesmee. Its inclusion of the clique objective is historical; current challenge availability is not established.
