What you are actually tracking

A useful tracker therefore records four properties for every entry:
- Format: comic or web novel.

If you write down only a number, you can easily mark the wrong work as read. Record the format and source alongside the number.

Use Tapas to check the English digital comic
Tapas maintains a Solo Leveling comic listing with individual episode entries and dates displayed on the page. That is the most direct place in the documented sources to inspect the English digital comic catalog. Open the comic listing, identify the most recent entry shown, and compare it with the last entry in your own record.
A practical check
- Open the Tapas listing specifically labeled as the comic, not the web novel.
- Look at the episode list and note the newest dated entry visible on the live page.
- Record the episode number, displayed date, and the date you checked the page. Your check date matters because episode availability and catalog presentation can change.
- When you return, compare the current newest entry with your saved record rather than relying on memory.

Tapas also lists Solo Leveling as a web novel, with its own episode catalog and dated chapter entries. The comic and novel are not one continuous numbering system. Episode 100 in one format is not evidence that episode or chapter 100 in the other format is the same point in the story.
How to label your records
Use an explicit label such as Comic — Tapas — episode [number] or Web novel — Tapas — chapter [number]. The bracketed notation is a template for your own notes; replace it with the number shown on the listing. Keep separate lists or separate spreadsheet tabs for the two formats.
Do not infer a comic-to-novel mapping from matching numbers. Adaptations can divide, combine, or reorder material, and the documented listings do not provide a reliable cross-format mapping. If you need to move from the comic to the novel, locate a source that explicitly identifies the corresponding material instead of guessing from episode counts.

What a volume page is good for
- Confirming that a collected comic volume exists in the English print catalog.
- Checking the volume number and edition metadata.
- Following the series as books, including side-story volumes listed on the series page.
A collected volume is not a live chapter alert. A volume page can have a release date in the past while new digital episodes continue elsewhere, and a series page does not automatically provide a next-episode timetable.

Do not put a Tapas episode and a Yen Press volume in the same “latest chapter” column. If you want one dashboard, keep separate columns for comic episode, novel chapter, and print volume.

Weekly or occasional checking
- Check the Tapas comic listing when you want the current digital comic position.
- Check the Tapas web-novel listing only for the novel position.
- Check the Yen Press series page when you are tracking collected books or side-story volumes.
- Update the displayed date and your check date together.
- If a page’s catalog or access presentation has changed, keep the old entry in your notes and add a new verification rather than silently overwriting it.
This process gives you a history of what you observed without pretending that an old snapshot is still current.
How to read dates without inventing a schedule

Mistake: using a collected-volume announcement as a chapter alert
Fix: use Tapas for individual comic episodes and Yen Press for collected books. A volume’s release date describes that book, not the next digital episode.
Mistake: quoting an old episode count as current
Fix: revisit the live listing and record the date of your check. Current digital availability and access terms can change.
Mistake: assuming English is the earliest worldwide release

A useful status update names the format, source, and observation date. For example: “The Tapas English comic listing currently shows its latest dated entry as of my check on [date].” Replace the bracketed date in your own copy with the day you actually checked; do not publish a date you did not verify.
