If someone is already inside your Roblox private server, Roblox’s documented immediate-removal option is to block that player: the action evicts them and adds them to your block list. To manage who can join in the future, change the server’s access settings under Servers > Configure. These are different actions: changing access is not documented as an instant in-session kick.
Remove a player who is in your server now
- Open the player’s Roblox profile or the in-experience player menu, depending on the controls available in that experience.
- Choose Roblox’s Block action and confirm if prompted.
Roblox’s official developer-forum announcement says blocking by a private-server owner immediately evicts the unwanted player and adds them to the owner’s block list: Roblox’s private-server announcement. Blocking is therefore more than a one-session kick; it also blocks the player. The exact route to the Block action can vary by device and interface.
Stop someone joining again
Use the private server’s configuration to change who is allowed to play. Roblox Support says owners can configure access for up to 50 individual users or allow their friends list: Roblox Support: Private Servers.
- Open the experience’s page on Roblox.
- Select Servers.
- Find your private server and open its three-dot menu.
- Select Configure, then adjust the permitted users or friends-list access.
This setting manages access going forward. Roblox’s FAQ does not say that removing an allowed user disconnects someone who is already in the server, so use the block action above when you need the documented immediate removal.

Why /kick may not work
There is no universal player-facing /kick command that works in every Roblox experience. Some games provide their own moderator commands or menus; follow that experience’s instructions if they exist.
Roblox’s Creator Hub documentation for Player:Kick() describes a developer API, not a command private-server owners can automatically use. A developer can call it from a server Script to remove a targeted player; a LocalScript can only kick the local player. Whether a game provides a usable moderation tool is up to that experience’s developer.

If someone still has access
- Recheck the private server’s Configure settings and remove any users you no longer want to allow.
- Review your Roblox account privacy settings, which can further limit who may join.
- Account age affects private-server access. Roblox says users under 13 are limited by default to friends’ private servers and to friends joining their own; privacy settings may impose stricter limits. See Roblox Support’s private-server FAQ.
