To keep your existing Activision profile and its progress, sign in to that profile first. Open LINKED ACCOUNTS, choose Link Account beside the platform you want to connect, verify your email, and finish on the platform provider’s website. You link a platform account to an Activision account—not a new Activision account to an existing profile.
How do I link my account?
- Sign in to the Activision account you want to keep. Check that you have not signed in to a different Activision profile by mistake.
- Open the linked-account settings. Open your account name or menu, then select LINKED ACCOUNTS.
- Choose the platform. Select Link Account beside the provider you want to connect. Activision’s current list includes Xbox (including Game Pass and Microsoft Store), PlayStation, Steam, Blizzard, Nintendo, and Ubisoft. You can link one account per provider. Activision lists the current providers and linking instructions here.
- Verify and finish linking. Request and enter the one-time code sent to the email address associated with your Activision account. You will then be redirected to the provider’s website to complete the connection.
- Confirm the result. Return to the linked-account page or game and check that the intended platform account appears as linked.
What happens to my progress if I link my platform account to another Activision account?
In games with cross-progression, progress is tied to the Activision account, not the platform account. Activision explains: “Games with cross-progression store game progress on your Activision account, not your platform account.” That means linking a platform account to a different Activision profile does not transfer your progress to that profile.
Activision says your progress and owned content are not lost: relinking the platform account to the original Activision account restores access to them. A new Activision account is not a way to merge two Activision profiles or move progress between them; the current account-linking guidance does not describe an account-merging process.
Why can’t I link or unlink the platform account?
You cannot access the email for the verification code
The code goes to the email address associated with your Activision account. If you cannot access that inbox, Activision advises contacting your email provider to regain access. See Activision’s email-verification guidance.

The platform account is linked to a different Activision profile
Check which Activision account is currently signed in before changing any links. Because cross-progression is associated with the Activision account, use the original profile if you want access to its progress and owned content.
You recently unlinked the platform account
Activision allows an individual platform account to be unlinked once every 12 months. Unlinking may also be restricted if the account has active enforcement or if Activision detects suspicious sign-in or unlinking activity. Avoid unlinking as a casual troubleshooting step; it may not be possible to reverse the change immediately.
