What linking lets you do
Minecraft Help says linking is needed to play cross-platform with friends and join Realms on PlayStation. It also gives access on PlayStation to eligible, non-exclusive Marketplace content bought with that Microsoft account on other game platforms. For new purchases on PlayStation, use Minecraft Tokens in the PlayStation Minecraft Store. Minecraft Help: PlayStation account linking and Marketplace information.
Choose the Microsoft account carefully
Minecraft Help states: “You can link one Microsoft account with your PlayStation Network account.” If you want to change the account, consult Minecraft’s separate unlinking instructions. The linking guidance does not establish that unlinking will always allow any other Microsoft account to be linked, so do not assume the association can be freely reassigned.
