To cap Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC using its documented in-game setting, open Options > Display, turn on VSync, and choose Half Refresh Rate. That sets the ceiling to half the selected display refresh rate: for example, 120 Hz gives a 60 FPS ceiling. The game supports unlocked frame rates, but this documented method does not set an arbitrary numeric cap such as 50 FPS.
Set a frame-rate ceiling in the Display menu
- Open Display settings. From the main menu or pause menu, select Options > Display.
- Choose Exclusive Fullscreen if you need to change refresh rate. Nixxes’ performance guide says the refresh-rate selector is adjustable only in Exclusive Fullscreen. The guide also describes Fullscreen and Window Mode.
- Select the refresh rate you want, if available. The Half Refresh Rate cap is based on this setting.
- Turn on VSync. It synchronizes frame delivery with the display and helps prevent screen tearing.
- Choose Half Refresh Rate. This limits the frame rate to half the selected refresh rate. At 120 Hz, the ceiling is 60 FPS; at 144 Hz, it is 72 FPS.
The game’s menu labels may differ in a later build; if they do, check the installed version’s Display options. The detailed Nixxes guide describing these controls was last edited November 15, 2022. Nixxes performance tuning guide on Steam
What the setting does—and what it does not
VSync and Half Refresh Rate
VSync synchronizes frame delivery with the screen to reduce tearing. Half Refresh Rate adds a lower ceiling: the game targets no more than half the selected refresh rate. It can be useful when a PC cannot consistently reach the display’s full refresh rate, but a ceiling is not a guarantee that every scene will run at that rate.
Dynamic Resolution Scaling is different
Dynamic Resolution Scaling adjusts the game’s internal rendering resolution to pursue a selected frame-rate target. Nixxes lists options including 30, 45, and 60 FPS, with higher targets available when supported by the screen. It is an adaptive image-quality feature, not a documented arbitrary hard cap: the game may lower rendering resolution to pursue the target rather than simply stop rendering above a chosen number.

For an arbitrary numeric cap
The cited in-game guide does not establish a control for entering any FPS value. If you need a cap other than half the selected refresh rate, inspect the current game menu and consult the current official documentation for your graphics-card software before using an external limiter; available controls and labels can vary by software version.
Adjust graphics if the PC cannot hold the target
A frame-rate limit sets a maximum, not a performance floor. If the game regularly falls below your chosen ceiling, lower demanding graphics settings rather than treating the cap as a fix for insufficient performance. Nixxes flags ray tracing as a CPU and GPU workload and says Very High reflection resolution can significantly reduce frame rate, especially at high display resolutions. Its guide also identifies level of detail, traffic density, crowd density, ray-tracing settings, and resolution or upscaling quality as possible adjustments.

PlayStation describes the PC version as supporting unlocked frame rates, NVIDIA DLSS, NVIDIA DLAA, and AMD FSR 2.0. Its product page gives these average-performance examples, not guarantees for every PC or scene:
| PlayStation’s stated average configuration | Settings and target |
|---|---|
| Very Low | 720p at 30 FPS |
| Medium | 1080p at 60 FPS; listed hardware includes a GTX 1060 6GB or Radeon RX 580, an Intel Core i5-4670 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600, and 16 GB RAM |
| High / Ray Tracing High | 1440p at 60 FPS or 4K at 30 FPS |
| Very High | 4K at 60 FPS |
These are publisher-stated average-performance configurations; results vary with hardware and settings. PlayStation’s PC feature and performance page lists the configurations. PlayStation’s July 20, 2022 PC feature announcement also describes the game’s Windowed, Fullscreen, and Exclusive Fullscreen modes.
