To loop one bhajan on YouTube Live, add its local audio or video file to an OBS Media Source and enable Loop. To repeat several bhajans, add them to an OBS VLC Video source and enable Loop Playlist. Then connect OBS to a YouTube Live event with its stream URL and key, test the preview, and start the broadcast. Use only recordings and visuals you have the necessary rights to stream.
Choose a loop method

OBS documents local media files as the source workflow. Its supported file types include MP3, AAC, OGG, WAV, MP4, MOV, MKV, and WebM. See the OBS Media Sources guide for format and source details.
Loop a single bhajan
- Prepare a local audio or video file that you are permitted to stream.
- In OBS, select the scene that will carry the broadcast. In Sources, select + and add a Media Source.
- Choose the local file in the source properties and enable Loop. The source will replay the file when it reaches the end.
- Confirm the source appears in the scene and that its audio reaches the OBS mixer. Play it and check the level before going live.
- If playback restarts when you return to a scene, inspect Restart playback when source becomes active. This is a separate setting from Loop; check the behavior in your OBS version.
OBS scenes combine sources into the output sent to your stream. Its overview guide recommends checking your arrangement before broadcasting.
Loop a playlist of bhajans
- Install VLC if it is not already installed. For 64-bit OBS, use 64-bit VLC.
- In OBS, add a VLC Video source to the intended scene and add your permitted local files to its playlist.
- Enable Loop Playlist to replay the list after its final item. Shuffle is optional; OBS documents it as off by default.
- Check the source’s visibility behavior if the playlist pauses or disappears when the source is hidden.
- Play through a transition between two tracks and check that both picture (if present) and sound behave as intended.

Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and create or select the stream. For a first broadcast, check account eligibility and enablement status in the Live Control Room; first-time live-stream enablement can take up to 24 hours.
- Copy the event’s stream URL and stream key into OBS’s stream configuration. YouTube explains the encoder setup in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Keep the stream key private: YouTube describes it as functioning like a password and address. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio. Reusing prior stream settings may also reuse a previous key, so verify the selected event and key.
- Set OBS’s output to a configuration YouTube supports and your upload connection can sustain. Use YouTube’s current encoder settings, bitrate, and resolution guidance rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all bitrate.
- Start streaming in OBS and wait for YouTube to receive the encoder signal. Check the Live Control Room preview and stream health before treating the broadcast as ready.
- When the preview, audio, loop transition, and stream health look right, begin the event as appropriate in Live Control Room. When finished, stop the encoder. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived.
Settings that matter
- Ingestion: YouTube recommends RTMPS.
- Rate control: Use CBR.
- Keyframes: YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe frequency, not exceeding four seconds.
- Resolution and bitrate: Choose from YouTube’s current resolution-dependent guidance, balancing the desired quality against stable upload bandwidth and computer capacity. The recommendations vary by output configuration; test your actual setup before the event.
- Audio: Follow YouTube’s audio guidance for your channel format and confirm the bhajan is audible without distortion in the preview.
Clear rights before streaming bhajans
YouTube states: “Every live stream is scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” A match can trigger a warning; if the material remains in the feed, YouTube may replace the live picture, interrupt the stream, or terminate it. A song’s devotional or traditional subject does not automatically make a particular recording free to broadcast. Rights may differ for the composition, arrangement, sound recording, performance, and accompanying visuals. Owning a physical copy, finding a version on YouTube, or holding a general license does not necessarily settle the rights to livestream that specific material. YouTube says a rights holder may need to allowlist a channel through Content ID even when the streamer has a license.

YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions place responsibility on the content provider to hold the necessary rights, including applicable music rights from artists, labels, publishers, and other rights participants. Establish permission for the exact recording and visuals before going live.
Test and troubleshoot before the broadcast
YouTube recommends testing representative sound and motion, checking the Live Control Room preview, and monitoring stream health and quality during the broadcast. Follow its YouTube live streaming tips; a brief test can expose problems that a still preview will not.
