To make a Razer warranty claim, check the warranty period for your exact product, gather its serial number and valid proof of purchase, then start at Razer’s warranty-support portal. Follow the requested diagnosis and get an RMA number before sending anything: Razer says not to ship a product without a valid RMA. The remedy may be repair, replacement parts, or an exchange, depending on Razer’s assessment and the applicable policy.
Before you start: check these five things
- Product and model: Identify the exact device and, where relevant, its model or configuration. Warranty periods and terms differ by product.
- Purchase date: Razer’s published warranty periods generally run from the retail purchase date. Keep the date visible on your receipt or order record.
- Seller and region: Note where and in which country you bought the product. The applicable warranty page, retailer process, and local consumer protections can vary.
- Proof of purchase: Find an accepted receipt, confirmation email, or Razer.com order number before opening the claim.
- Serial number: Locate the number on the product, packaging, registration records, or Razer software if available. Its location differs by model.
A defect in materials or workmanship during the applicable period may qualify. Accidental damage, misuse, unauthorized repair, cosmetic wear, or ordinary battery-capacity loss may fall outside the limited warranty. Razer’s policy and local law determine the outcome.
Is your Razer product still under warranty?
Razer’s currently published policy lists different periods by category. These are examples, not a substitute for checking the exact model, region, and terms that applied to the purchase. Some discontinued or sell-out products may have had a shorter period stated at purchase.
| Product category | Published period |
|---|---|
| Laptops | 1 year; a separate 2-year limited battery warranty is listed |
| Mice | 2 years |
| Viper Mini Signature Edition | 3 years |
| Keyboards and keypads | 2 years |
| Huntsman Signature Edition | 5 years |
| Headsets, earphones, and earbuds | 2 years |
| Mouse mats | 1 year |
| Controllers and chargers | 1 year |
| Monitors | 1 year |
| Iskur and Iskur V2 chairs | 3 years |
| Katana power supplies | 5 years |
| Refurbished products bought from Razer.com | Lesser of 1 year or the applicable product period |
| Refurbished products not bought from Razer.com | 90 days |
These periods are from Razer’s published warranty policy. The linked page is an AP-region policy page; do not assume every regional term is identical. Check the policy for your purchase location and the exact product.

Razer’s policy describes coverage for defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and according to official documentation. It lists exclusions or limits for matters including unauthorized repairs or modifications, misuse, accidents and other external causes, altered or illegible serial numbers, cosmetic damage, normal wear, and loss of rechargeable-battery capacity over time. A specific issue is not automatically accepted or rejected everywhere; the policy and any applicable legal rights matter.
Should you contact the retailer or Razer?
For a recent U.S. or Canadian purchase from a reseller, Razer’s published policy says to contact the reseller first: it describes the reseller as handling warranty claims for the first 30 days after purchase, after which the customer should follow Razer’s support process. This is Razer’s stated policy, not a universal rule overriding a seller’s own return terms or local law. Purchases in other regions may follow different procedures.
- Contact the retailer first if the item is newly purchased, arrived damaged or incorrect, the store’s exchange or return window is open, or Razer’s policy directs you there.
- Use Razer Support for a direct Razer.com purchase or when the retailer’s return period has ended or it directs you to the manufacturer.
- Use the separate Razer.com returns process for a store return or refund; that is not the same as a manufacturer warranty claim. See Razer’s returns and refunds page.
- Use RazerCare only if you have that plan and its terms apply. It is separate from the standard limited warranty.
Razer says products bought from unauthorized dealers may not be covered and directs customers to contact that dealer about support. If the seller is a marketplace or auction seller, verify authorization rather than assuming the product’s brand guarantees warranty eligibility.
What to gather for your claim
- Exact product name, model, and serial number.
- Purchase date, seller, and country of purchase.
- A dated receipt, order-confirmation email, or Razer.com order number.
- A concise description of what fails, when it began, and whether it happens consistently.
- Specific troubleshooting already attempted and the results.
- Photos or a short video if the problem is physical or difficult to reproduce.
- Relevant operating system, Razer software or firmware version, and connected computer or console.
- Your current contact details and shipping address.
Razer lists a dated receipt from an authorized dealer or reseller that shows product description and price, a dated official online-dealer email confirming purchase and shipment with product description and price, and a Razer.com order number as proof-of-purchase examples. It says a box UPC, product photo, certificate of authenticity, unauthorized-dealer or auction-site receipt, canceled check, and credit-card statement are not valid examples. Save the complete receipt or email as a PDF rather than sending only a cropped image. If the product was a gift, ask the purchaser for the receipt or whether they can submit the claim. If you cannot find a direct Razer.com order number, Razer says it may be able to locate the order using customer information; reseller purchases generally require the seller’s copy of the record.

Razer’s support flow asks for a 15-character alphanumeric serial number in at least some product paths. If it is rejected, recheck the characters and make sure you are reading the device label rather than a different code on its packaging.
How to file the Razer warranty claim
- Choose the right starting point. Use the retailer route above where it applies. Otherwise open Razer Warranty Support. The portal presents different paths for in-warranty and out-of-warranty products, RazerCare, laptop repairs, and order returns. You can also find official support options through Razer Contact Us or the Razer Support homepage.
- Enter the product information. Select the relevant product category and provide the serial number. The portal may identify the product as covered, out of warranty, or unrecognized; follow the options it presents.
- Describe the problem precisely. Say what happens, when it happens, whether it can be repeated, and what tests you have already tried. For example, distinguish “the mouse disconnects only through its wireless dongle after several minutes” from “it stopped working.”
- Attach the requested evidence. Provide the complete proof of purchase and any photos, video, error messages, or product details requested. Keep your originals.
- Complete the diagnosis. Razer may ask you to run additional tests, provide software details, or confirm the defect. Reply in the same case thread and keep the case number.
- Wait for authorization and instructions. If Razer asks you to return the device, obtain the valid RMA number and the support-provided shipping address before packing it.
Ordinary checks may help describe the fault: test another computer or console, try another port, cable, dongle, or charger where appropriate, or check whether the fault occurs outside Synapse. Update or reset software and firmware only in line with Razer’s official instructions. Do not open or modify the device to diagnose it; unauthorized repairs or changes can affect coverage. Stop using and charging a product that becomes unusually hot, smells burnt, swells, sparks, or shows battery damage.
What an RMA means—and what it does not
An RMA number authorizes a return for evaluation; it is not a guarantee that Razer has approved a replacement or concluded the defect is covered. Razer says to obtain the RMA and return address through its support process and not to send a product without a valid RMA. Do not mail the device simply because you have opened a case or received an automated acknowledgement.
After diagnosis or inspection, Razer determines eligibility under the policy. Keep the case number, RMA, written instructions, and any requests for more information together so you can refer to them in replies.

Prepare, pack, and ship the product
- Protect personal data. Back up files on a laptop or other data-holding device, remove personal information where appropriate, and sign out of accounts if instructed. Razer warns that repair may result in data loss and makes the customer responsible for backing up software, programs, and data.
- Confirm what to send. Include only the product and accessories Razer requests. Do not send a charger, dongle, or other accessory unless the instructions call for it.
- Document the condition. Photograph the product and its condition, then photograph the packed item before sealing the box.
- Package it securely. Use protective packaging suitable for the device and retain your carrier receipt and tracking number.
- Label the package. Put the RMA number visibly on the outside. Inside, include valid proof of purchase and the reason for return, as Razer’s policy instructs.
- Ship to the specified address. Use the address provided by support, not an address guessed from an older shipment or found elsewhere.
- Track the return. Keep the tracking number, case and RMA numbers, correspondence, and any promised response date until the claim is closed.
Razer’s policy says the customer generally pays to send the product in, including applicable shipping, handling, customs, duties, or taxes. For a valid warranty return, Razer says it is responsible for return postage, but not customs charges, duties, or taxes. Confirm the instructions and costs for your region before shipping.
Extra preparation for a Razer laptop
- Back up files and remove confidential data; repair may erase data.
- Record the serial number and configuration, and photograph the exterior and screen.
- Do not send accessories unless Razer requests them.
- Check the model’s terms: Razer’s published table lists a one-year laptop warranty and a separate two-year limited battery warranty, but battery-capacity loss over time is separately addressed in the exclusions.
Extra care for chairs and limited editions
Do not assume all chairs have the same term: Razer’s policy separates models and components, and some Fujin and Soma components have different periods from Iskur lines. For limited-edition or discontinued products, original stock may not be available; Razer may offer a functionally equivalent substitute, potentially a standard-edition product.
What can happen after Razer receives the product?
For an eligible claim, Razer’s policy allows it to repair the product or defective parts at no charge, use new or refurbished replacement parts, exchange it for a new or functionally equivalent product, or substitute a current functionally equivalent model if the original is end-of-life. For special, limited, or collaboration products that are unavailable, the policy allows a standard-edition substitute. The customer does not choose the remedy under the published policy.
Razer states that a repaired or exchanged product receives 90 days of defect coverage from the repair or exchange, or the remainder of the original warranty period, whichever is longer. Regional consumer law may provide additional rights.

If something goes wrong with the claim
The serial number is not recognized
- Check every character, including similar-looking letters and numbers.
- Confirm that you are using the serial number on the product, not a packaging code.
- Try the support category for the exact product.
- Send support a clear photo of the label with the model and proof of purchase.
- Do not ship until Razer issues a valid RMA.
The portal can report that it cannot locate a serial number. An unrecognized number may require support review; it does not by itself establish why the product is missing from the flow.
You cannot find the receipt
Check Razer.com or the retailer account’s order history, search for the original purchase email, and ask the retailer or gift purchaser for a copy. Razer says it may be able to locate a direct Razer.com purchase using customer information; reseller proof generally needs to come from the dealer.
The product is out of warranty
The support portal may show RazerCare-related options, community help, general troubleshooting, or a paid repair-fee path for some laptops. Do not assume paid repair is offered for every product. Compare any quoted repair and shipping costs with the product’s value before proceeding.
Razer asks for more information or denies the claim
Reply promptly in the existing case thread and keep the communication together. If the claim is denied, ask for the specific policy basis, correct any serial-number or seller information, and provide clearer proof or requested diagnostic evidence. You can ask whether local consumer law changes the available remedy, or contact the retailer if it may still be responsible. Keep the written decision and evidence; an appeal is not guaranteed to succeed.
