Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteTo prevent an unwanted renewal, identify which seller billed each subscription, cancel renewal separately through that seller, and check the account’s displayed end or renewal date. Xbox Game Pass billed by Microsoft is managed in your Microsoft account; Ubisoft+ should be managed through the seller shown on your receipt. A service name on a bank statement alone may not identify the account or seller.
Identify the seller and account for each charge
Before cancelling anything, compare recent receipts with your bank or card statement. For each entry, note the merchant descriptor, charge date, amount, account email, plan, and next renewal or expiration date. Check other email addresses and accounts you may have used before deciding that two entries are duplicate subscriptions: matching amounts or dates alone do not establish that they are duplicates.
- Use the receipt and billing descriptor to identify who took payment.
- Sign in with the account email associated with that receipt and inspect its subscription page.
- If the subscription is missing from one account, check other accounts and the seller’s portal before concluding it is not active.
Microsoft says subscriptions purchased through third-party stores, including Google Play or Apple, must be cancelled with that seller. Ubisoft likewise warns that third-party seller billing and cancellation terms may differ. Microsoft’s cancellation guidance and Ubisoft’s US subscription terms explain those seller-specific arrangements.
Cancel Microsoft-billed Xbox Game Pass
- Sign in to the Microsoft account used to buy Game Pass.
- Open Services & Subscriptions.
- Find the Game Pass plan and select Manage.
- Choose the cancellation or End subscription option and follow the prompts shown in your account.
- Return to the subscription page and record the displayed end date or cancellation status.
Microsoft’s current cancellation guidance says that if the page shows Turn on recurring billing instead of Manage, the subscription is already set to expire on the date displayed and will not automatically charge again after that date. Take note of the date and check the page again after leaving it. With recurring billing off, the subscription is paid through its remaining duration; access may continue until the end date, subject to the options and terms shown for your account. Microsoft’s 2020 cancellation video also shows the Services & Subscriptions → Manage → End subscription flow, though button wording can change.

Cancel Ubisoft+ through the seller on your receipt
Ubisoft’s US subscription terms say Ubisoft+ renews monthly at the then-current price until cancelled, with the selected payment method charged on renewal. If Ubisoft took payment, sign in to the Ubisoft account associated with the receipt and use its subscription controls. If a third party billed you, use that seller’s account and cancellation process instead; Ubisoft says third-party payment, cancellation, and refund terms may differ.
For a Ubisoft+ subscription associated with an Xbox purchase, do not assume the platform alone identifies the billing seller. Follow the receipt and the subscription-management link shown in the relevant account. The available official terms establish that third-party arrangements can differ, but do not establish one universal cancellation route for every Xbox purchase.

Verify the cancellation and handle charges you cannot explain
Save the cancellation confirmation email or take a screenshot, then revisit the seller’s subscription page. Look for a cancelled status, an expiration date, or—on Microsoft’s page—Turn on recurring billing rather than an active renewal action. Record the date the account says access or the paid period ends.
If a charge is still unexplained, check for another account or a different seller named on the receipt. Contact that seller if the account and receipt do not reconcile. If the statement entry still cannot be identified, ask your payment provider whether it is pending, reversed, or a settled charge. Do not treat a bank dispute as the routine first step when the seller or account has not yet been identified.

Know what cancellation does—and does not—change
Stopping renewal does not itself establish that an existing charge will be refunded. Check the seller’s refund eligibility and local terms, and rely on the option actually offered for your account; Ubisoft and Microsoft may apply different rules depending on who billed you and where you live.
Ubisoft says access to subscription benefits and games ends after the current subscription period. Note the displayed end date, and distinguish access to games through the subscription from games you purchased separately.
