Where to find Aerialite Ore
Disenchanted Aerialite Ore generates inside clouds on Floating Islands when the world is created. Look for the tan-colored ore in the clouds. It cannot be detected by a Metal Detector or its upgrades, so a detector is not a reliable way to locate it. The Calamity Mod wiki’s Disenchanted Aerialite page describes its location and detection limits.

Which pickaxe you need
The required pickaxe depends on the ore’s state:

The boss defeat converts all Disenchanted Aerialite Ore in the world into regular Aerialite Ore. The regular ore’s listed pickaxe power requirement is 65%. See the Aerialite Ore wiki page for the regular ore’s mining details.
Mining it step by step
- Search the clouds on Floating Islands for tan Disenchanted Aerialite Ore.
- If you find it before the relevant boss is defeated, mine it with a Cobalt or Palladium Pickaxe. Alternatively, defeat The Hive Mind or The Perforators to convert it.
- After conversion, mine the cyan Aerialite Ore with a Nightmare or Deathbringer Pickaxe.

Defeat Aero Slimes
Aero Slimes drop 10–26 Aerialite Ore, giving you another source if you need more after mining the Floating Islands.

Use explosives
The regular Aerialite Ore page also lists explosives as able to destroy the ore. The pickaxe thresholds above are the straightforward method for mining it.
Turn the ore into bars
At a Furnace, craft one Aerialite Bar from three Aerialite Ore. The Aerialite Ore wiki page lists the recipe.

These progression and mining mechanics are for Terraria with the Calamity Mod. Mod versions can change; if your world does not behave as described, check the current official wiki pages against the version installed in your game.
