In Terraria’s Calamity Mod, the mineable resource is called Auric Ore; “Auric Tesla” refers to an endgame armor set. To mine Auric Ore, defeat Jungle Dragon, Yharon, then search the Cavern layer with at least a Blossom Pickaxe. Be careful: touching the ore without the required protection triggers a damaging knockback effect.
What you need before looking for Auric Ore
- Defeat Yharon. Auric Ore generates in the Cavern layer after Jungle Dragon, Yharon, has been defeated, according to the Calamity Mod Wiki’s Auric Ore entry.
- Bring a Blossom Pickaxe or better. The official entry identifies the Blossom Pickaxe as the minimum mining tool. It does not specify a newer named substitute, so consult your installed version’s in-game information if its tool requirements differ.
- Protect yourself from contact. The official entry says touching Auric Ore without either a full Auric Tesla armor set or Seraph Tracers causes Auric Rejection: 300 damage and knockback. Equip one of those protections before moving among ore blocks.
How to find and mine it
- Go to the Cavern layer after defeating Yharon.
- Look for glowing ore in large clusters. The official entry describes the ore as light-emitting and says it generates in large clusters; it does not give a measured average vein size.
- Mine it with a Blossom Pickaxe or a tool the game accepts as at least that capable. Avoid contact with the ore unless wearing the full Auric Tesla set or Seraph Tracers.
Explosives cannot destroy Auric Ore, so use a pickaxe rather than trying to clear it with bombs. The official wiki also lists no Auric Slime counterpart, so slime farming is not an alternative source.

Can you craft Auric Ore instead?
Yes. The official wiki documents crafting Auric Ore in stacks of ten by standing near Shimmer with a Yharon Soul Fragment in your inventory. You do not need to submerge the fragment. The two documented ways to acquire the ore differ in their prerequisites:

The source does not establish a time or efficiency advantage for either route. The Shimmer method is an option if you have the fragment and access to Shimmer; mining follows the world-generation route.

Turning Auric Ore into Auric Bars
The official wiki’s recipe entry lists five Auric Bars as requiring 50 Auric Ore and one Yharon Soul Fragment at an Adamantite Forge or Titanium Forge. Auric Bars are the ore’s primary listed use. Recipes can vary between mod versions, so check the recipe display in your installed game if these ingredients or stations do not match.
