In Build Mode, enable bb.moveobjects, pick up an object, then use Ctrl+9 to raise it or Ctrl+0 to lower it on Windows. On Mac, use Command+9 and Command+0. These elevation shortcuts come from an accepted EA Forums answer; EA’s current Help article documents the cheat setup but not the shortcuts.

Place the object when it is at the desired height. If its function matters, check the finished build in Live Mode; free placement does not guarantee that every object interaction or route will work as intended.
What the cheat changes
bb.moveobjects on relaxes placement restrictions so objects can overlap or be placed without grid snapping. It is a placement tool, not a general elevation control by itself: use the keyboard shortcuts above while holding an object to change its height.

Using the cheat on PlayStation or Xbox
EA documents how to turn on the placement cheat on consoles, but the official sources cited here do not specify a console input for raising and lowering objects. Do not assume the PC or Mac keyboard combinations translate to controller buttons.

After opening the console, enter testingcheats true, then bb.moveobjects on, as described in EA Help’s platform instructions. For a controller-specific elevation sequence, verify the controls for your platform and current setup rather than relying on desktop shortcuts.

Do Build Mode cheats disable console achievements?
EA’s cheats FAQ says that using cheats which require testingcheats true disables Achievements or Trophies on the current save, and separately says Build Mode cheats are allowed. That guidance does not establish that using bb.moveobjects by itself disables achievements; EA’s distinction does not support treating every Build Mode cheat as disqualifying.
