To check a meditation stream you are broadcasting, open that stream in YouTube Studio or the Live Control Room on your phone. Read its stream status and any error instructions, then check the live output by watching and listening as a viewer would. Audience metrics can show activity, but they cannot tell you whether the meditation audio sounds clean or the picture looks right.
If you mean watching someone else’s meditation stream, use the YouTube app. That lets you watch, not inspect the creator’s stream health.
Check a stream you are broadcasting
- Run a test first. Before a long broadcast, YouTube recommends trying a test live stream so you can get comfortable with the process. Check the phone and viewing setup you plan to use.
- Open the current stream in YouTube Studio or Live Control Room. YouTube makes stream health and analytics available in Live Control Room, and its mobile metrics guidance covers Android and iPhone or iPad. Use the current stream entry and the dashboard labels shown on your device: app interfaces can change, and there is no single menu path established for every streaming method or app view.
- Read stream status before audience numbers. Stream status is the creator-facing health indicator. It may display specific errors and instructions; follow those details, then check the viewer-facing stream itself.
- Review the metrics available for that stream. Depending on the streaming method and device, mobile metrics can include concurrent viewers, duration, live chat messages and likes. Treat these as activity information, not evidence that the audio or video is coming through correctly.
- Listen and look at the live output. YouTube’s guidance says to “Continuously monitor streams for audio and video quality.” Check that the meditation audio is audible and clear and that the picture is as intended. If something is wrong, use the status error details and recheck the output.
A phone stand is an optional comfort aid for hands-free viewing during a long check-in. It is not a YouTube requirement and does not make a stream more reliable.
Choose the right monitoring view
The mobile YouTube Studio app and Live Control Room are both creator-side surfaces, but the information shown can depend on your stream method, device and dashboard view. Check which one exposes the health status, metrics or chat you need; do not assume every metric appears in every app view.

Monitoring can help you notice a problem, but YouTube’s guidance does not promise that a phone-based check—or any particular phone setup—will keep a continuous broadcast uninterrupted indefinitely.
Watch someone else’s meditation stream
- Open the YouTube app and find or open the live stream.
- If the stream is scheduled, select Notify me where that option is available to get a notification when it starts.
As a viewer, you can watch the stream, but you do not get the creator’s stream-health dashboard or its error instructions.
