Can you move your base in Palworld?
You can relocate a base, but it is a dismantle-and-rebuild process rather than a direct move. The Palbox anchors the base area and serves as a fast-travel point. Dismantling the old Palbox lets you establish a new base by placing another Palbox at the destination. GameSpot’s September 24, 2024 guide describes selecting the Palbox on the world map and holding the dismantle input; the precise control may vary by platform.
Your Pals are retained in storage, but working assignments need attention: unassign workers before dismantling, then assign stored Pals to jobs again after the move.
Relocate the base or add another?

Available base slots depend on progression and world settings. Check the slots available in your save rather than relying on a level threshold from an older guide; reports of exact unlock levels vary. Switchblade Gaming’s version 1.0 guide, checked in August 2026, also recommends weighing production at the existing base, resource access at the new site, and the effort of dismantling and hauling.

How to relocate a base, step by step
- Choose the destination and check your base slots. If you have an available slot, you can build a second base first and keep the existing one operating during setup. Otherwise, prepare to move by dismantling the old Palbox.
- Unassign working Pals. Active assignments can block dismantling, according to the recent Switchblade Gaming guide. After building the new base, stored Pals will need to be assigned to jobs again.
- Plan how to transport supplies. Treat the transfer as manual. Windows Central’s walkthrough suggests using chests at both locations and fast-traveling between them, or using a mount if fast travel is unavailable. Move valuable inventory before dismantling, and make repeated trips as needed.
- Decide which structures to keep or dismantle. The August 2026 guide distinguishes Pal-exclusive structures from ordinary buildings: it says Pal-exclusive facilities are dismantled automatically and their materials drop at the site, while houses, walls, and chests remain where they were built. Collect the dropped materials. Manually dismantle ordinary buildings if you want to recover their materials. The older Windows Central walkthrough recommends dismantling all structures first, so do not assume every structure will be automatically refunded in every version.
- Dismantle the old Palbox and place the new one. Select the old Palbox on the world map and hold the dismantle input; controls vary by platform. At the destination, build a Palbox to establish the new base area.
- Transfer materials, rebuild, and reassign Pals. Bring the supplies you need, construct the facilities and buildings at the new site, and assign stored Pals to their new jobs.
What happens to structures and materials?
Do not expect every building to move with the Palbox. The most recent guide found, checked against version 1.0 in August 2026, says Pal-exclusive facilities are automatically dismantled and leave refunded materials to collect, while ordinary structures such as houses, walls, and chests stay in place. To bring materials from ordinary buildings, dismantle them yourself before leaving. Because this structure behavior is described by a guide rather than official developer documentation, check what the game does in your version before relying on a full refund.
Supplies in storage are a separate logistics problem: plan to carry them between the old and new locations rather than assuming relocation transfers them automatically.
