To move a Gyre 24/7 stream to another YouTube channel, authorize the destination channel in Gyre and select it when configuring a replacement broadcast. Check that the account has permission to manage live streams on that channel and that the channel is eligible to go live. Start the new broadcast and verify it in YouTube Studio before stopping the old one. Gyre’s reviewed documentation does not establish whether changing the destination preserves the original event URL, chat, or archive, so treat continuity as unconfirmed.
Change the YouTube channel connected to Gyre
- Sign in to Gyre and begin configuring a replacement YouTube broadcast.
- Authorize the destination channel. Use the Google account that owns or manages the channel. Gyre says each YouTube channel must be authorized separately. If the Google account manages multiple channels, check the channel identity shown during authorization.
- Select the destination channel in Gyre. Confirm it is the intended channel before continuing.
- Configure the broadcast. Set the title, description, tags, thumbnail, privacy, video files or playlist, and stream key as applicable in the current Gyre interface. Gyre describes an authorization flow that can create the broadcast and bind a stream key for the selected channel.
- Check YouTube eligibility and limits. Confirm the destination channel can go live and that starting the broadcast will not exceed YouTube’s active-stream limits.
- Start or schedule the replacement, then verify it in YouTube Studio. Check the destination channel and broadcast before deciding when to stop the old stream. This is a cautious handoff procedure, not a guarantee of uninterrupted viewing or event continuity.
Will the new stream keep the same live URL, chat, and archive?
That is not confirmed in the reviewed Gyre documentation. Plan on configuring a new broadcast rather than assuming an existing running broadcast can be retargeted while keeping its YouTube event identity. If retaining the same live-event URL, chat, or archive is essential, ask Gyre support to confirm what happens for your specific stream before making the change.
Make sure the destination channel can go live
- YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days.
- YouTube allows up to 10 active streams per channel and three active streams per stream key. Check both limits before launching.
- Do not switch to another channel to evade a live-stream restriction. YouTube prohibits using another channel while a restriction remains active.
- YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If copyrighted material remains after an alert, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. Even if you have a licence, the rights holder may need to add your channel to an allowlist.

Changing Gyre’s destination is not transferring a YouTube channel
Selecting a different destination changes where Gyre creates the broadcast; it does not move the YouTube channel identity, its videos, or its ownership. YouTube’s Brand Account transfer process is for moving a channel between accounts or Brand Accounts. YouTube warns that an existing destination channel can be replaced during that process, so do not use it merely to point Gyre at another channel. If you actually intend to move the channel and its identity, follow YouTube’s current channel-transfer instructions and verify both channel identities before confirming any replacement.

Grant access without sharing a Google password
YouTube channel permissions can let someone manage live streams without sharing the Google Account sign-in. The Manager role can manage live streams. The Editor role can also manage them, but cannot manage permissions or delete scheduled, live, or completed streams. YouTube states that the Owner role under channel permissions cannot transfer ownership to another user. Review YouTube channel-permission roles and grant only the access needed.
Troubleshoot a destination-channel change
- The intended channel does not appear: Check that you authorized the Google account that owns or manages it, then verify that the right channel identity was selected in the authorization flow. Gyre authorizes channels separately.
- You cannot start the broadcast: Check channel verification, live-stream restrictions from the previous 90 days, and the 10-stream channel and three-stream-per-key limits.
- The new broadcast is not on the expected channel: Confirm the selected channel in Gyre and inspect the destination in YouTube Studio before stopping the old stream.
- YouTube interrupts the stream: Review any copyright alert. A rights holder may need to allowlist the channel even if you believe the material is licensed.
- You need to preserve the old event URL, chat, or archive: Do not assume a destination change preserves them; confirm with Gyre support before retiring the existing broadcast.
