If you mean moving from the Origin desktop client to the EA app, install or open the EA app and sign in with the same EA Account you used in Origin. EA says your games and other content transfer automatically, and your Origin friend list transfers after you log in. If you mean combining two separate EA Accounts, there is no do-it-yourself merge: contact EA Help, because a merge may not be possible.
First, identify which kind of “merge” you mean
Origin and the EA app are desktop clients; two EA Accounts are separate accounts. Switching clients does not combine accounts. EA says the EA app is available for PC and Mac, and it is not a phone app. EA Help: download, install, and update the EA app

- Moving from Origin to the EA app: Use the same EA Account. EA says games and other content transfer automatically.
- Combining two EA Accounts: Contact EA Help. EA says merging accounts is not always possible, and users cannot move games or platform accounts themselves.
Move from Origin to the EA app
- Install or open the EA app on your PC or Mac. Download it from EA Help.
- Sign in with the EA Account you used in Origin. If you have more than one account, check the email address before signing in; using a different account can make your library appear incomplete.
- Open your Library and check for your purchased games and other content. EA says this content transfers automatically when moving from Origin to the EA app.
- Check your friend list after logging in. EA says the Origin friend list transfers to the EA app.
If a game or other content you expect is missing, confirm you are signed in to the correct EA Account and contact EA Help for account-specific assistance. Do not create another account or unlink a platform account as a workaround.
Request help if you want to combine two EA Accounts
EA’s Manage Multiple EA Accounts guidance says an account merge may not be possible. Contact EA Help for a review of your specific accounts; do not assume support can approve a transfer.

Before contacting support, gather:
- The email addresses for both EA Accounts, and which addresses you can access.
- The games and platforms associated with each account.
- Which account holds the saves, achievements, or other progress you need.
- Which platform accounts are linked to each EA Account.
These details help describe the request; they do not guarantee a merge. EA says cloud data, including saves and achievements, is linked to the EA Account. Even if a game is moved to another account, its data may remain with the original account.
Check these risks before changing links or requesting a merge
Unlinking a platform account does not move progress
EA warns that progress does not transfer when you unlink a platform account. For Steam, entitlements such as in-game rewards, points, and items remain on the EA Account to which Steam was first linked. See EA’s unlinking guidance before making a change.

Linked-account changes are limited
EA says linked accounts can be switched up to three times in a rolling year. It advises choosing an EA Account you intend to keep long term to preserve progress and purchases. Check EA’s account-linking guidance before changing a link; the limit is a policy restriction, not a way to consolidate libraries.
Bans and age rules can affect transfers
EA says games cannot be transferred if either account has a ban. It also describes restrictions involving child and adult accounts and games with specified age ratings. Check the current multiple-account guidance and ask EA Help about your circumstances before requesting a transfer.

STAR WARS: The Old Republic account warning
EA warns that requesting a merge for an EA Account associated with a STAR WARS: The Old Republic account permanently removes access to that SW:TOR account and its progress. SW:TOR accounts cannot be transferred or retained during a merge. Treat this as a potential loss of access, not a routine step.
Apex Legends progress cannot be combined across EA Accounts
EA states that progress from two EA Accounts cannot be merged in Apex Legends. See EA’s Apex Legends cross-progression guidance for that game’s account rules.

What not to do
- Do not unlink a console or Steam account expecting its progress to move to another EA Account.
- Do not change an email address or move a game as a universal merge procedure. EA describes changing an email in a specific multiple-account situation, but that is not a general transfer method.
- Do not create a new EA Account to solve a missing-library problem until you have checked which account owns the content.
